We are currently seeking an experienced professional to join our team in the role of Manager Special Credit Unit.
Principal responsibilities
- Role activities: The jobholder to be primarily responsible for
- To support case managers on periodic reviews and IFRS 9 Expected Credit Loss assessment
- To support case managers on managing non performing loans and debt recovery
- To analyse portfolio and financial data for management’s strategic decision purposes
- To be responsible for financial / regulatory reporting and governance requirements and ensure data quality, timeliness and compliance in relation thereto.
- To be responsible for designated HASE / Group / Regional projects (including Corporate Portfolio Management project) to ensure data quality, timeliness and compliance with the relevant requirement.To handle external/internal auditors’ requests / SOX and other assurance review requests
- To input daily transactional data of problem accounts into Group / Regional system (e.g. Bad & Debt System, Corporate Portfolio Management system etc) for financial reporting and data modelling.
- To provide technical support as system administrator.
- Participate in the Wholesale Credit Shared Service Centre, SCU CoE & local GSC activities.
- To support other general administration duties.
Requirements
- Associate Degree or Degree Holder in Business Administration, Finance, Economics, Risk Management or related fields.
- Minimum 5 years’ of relevant working experience in credit risk management or corporate recovery in a regulated environment.
- Awareness of IFRS9 basics and banking and credit fundamentals
- Strong problem solving, analytical, decision-making and interpersonal skills
- Comfortable working with software that is rapidly changing and willing to learn new technologies/programming languages
- Strong verbal and written communication skills to lead discussions with senior stakeholders and prepare executive level analysis/commentary
- Strong critical thinking skills to understand, analyze and assess data, analytical concepts and portfolio trends
- Knowledge of HANG SENG BANK data systems is preferred
- Understanding of credit risk impairment and credit risk data requirements preferred
- Understanding of financial reporting controls and SOX processes preferred.
Candidate with less relevant experience or skills may be offered a lower Global Career Band than stated above.
