We are currently seeking an experienced professional to join our team in the role of Manager, IT Business Analyst.

 

Principal responsibilities

  • Engage with stakeholders to elicit, analyse, and document business requirements for IT initiatives.
  • Author functional specifications and Jira tickets to support solution development.
  • Contribute to the development of project plans, timelines, and budgets aligned with business objectives and resource availability.
  • Lead and coordinate project meetings, including workshops, status updates, and post-implementation reviews.
  • To ensure successful SIT and coordinate UAT for end-user adoption.
  • Maintain project documentation in accordance with HSBC governance and regulatory standards.
  • Deliver timely support for production issues and ensure system performance.
  • Provide Level 2 Production support across multiple products and applications.
  • Refine and govern support processes to drive continuous improvement.
  • Identify issues in deliverables or configurations; propose and implement architectural enhancements.
  • Operate on a rotational basis, including weekends and public holidays, as per the support roster.
  • Work with L3, development, and infrastructure teams to resolve incidents within SLAs.
  • Develop and maintain production support documentation, procedures, troubleshooting guides, and weekly reports.
  • Support project deployments from documentation through to implementation.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of tools, technologies, and domains such as cybersecurity, data privacy, consent, and data residency regulations.

 

Requirements

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field.
  • 3–8 years’ experience in securities application systems or algorithmic trading platforms; local securities firm experience is beneficial.
  • Must hold a valid securities industry qualification(SAC) within one year as required by the China Securities Regulatory Commission (CSRC).

Professional Skills & Experience

  • Knowledge of the Chinese securities market.
  • Solid grasp of the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC), project management methodologies, and system implementation best practices.
  • Proven track record in IT Business Analysis and/or IT Project Management, with a history of successful project delivery.
  • Experienced in Service Management practices, including batch monitoring, incident resolution, change control, problem management, and root cause analysis.
  • Familiar with Jenkins, JIRA, Confluence, and Service Dashboard reporting tools.
  • Skilled in interpreting system alerts and notifications, with the ability to respond promptly in line with SLA requirements.
  • Basic proficiency in Linux and Windows operating systems.
  • Foundational understanding of database systems.
  • Vendor collaboration experience is an advantage.

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills in Chinese, with working proficiency in English.
  • Excellent stakeholder engagement and interpersonal communication abilities.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to translate business requirements into technical specifications.
  • Capable of managing multiple projects simultaneously, with prioritisation aligned to business impact and deadlines.
  • Proactive, detail-oriented, and committed to delivering high-quality results.
  • Capable of working autonomously in a cross-functional, multi-location environment.
  • Demonstrates teamwork, multitasking, interpersonal effectiveness, troubleshooting, testing, and a proactive, structured approach.
