We are currently seeking an experienced professional to join our team in the role of Lead Architect.

Principal responsibilities
This role will delegate work for ASP Markets to carry out some or all of the following activities:
- Focus on application architecture with an end-to-end perspective.
- Support the application demise program for local legacy applications.
- Support CIO and Architecture Team on FSA-related matters for all market-related applications.
- Prepare technical solution design according to strategic patterns with usage of HSBC Platforms
- Assist countries teams with emergency technical solutions and resolution of regulatory requests .
- Opportunities to travel to market to gain market insights.
- Participate in design discussions for project engagements in markets.
- Help improve technical resilience and Technology Risk and Compliance book of work for market. Assist in discussions on evergreen pipelines and form budgets for various upgrade initiatives.
- Collaborate with BGI(Business &Group Infrastructure), compliance teams, regulators, and AME transformation teams, attending meetings to address regulatory requirements.
- Collaborate with architecture teams from other BGI divisions on market infrastructure, data, and related topics when required.
- Respond to regulatory inquiries and balance the need to upgrade existing legacy solutions with funding constraints to support changes.
- Provide design suggestions on core banking systems, considering local operations and business needs to understand the full context.
- Manage engagement for system evergreen initiatives, KCI, and infrastructure upgrades, including notebooks, firewalls, servers, and local infrastructure.
- Participate in industry forums to align with global policies and regulatory requirements.
- Leverage knowledge of current cloud governance practices to provide strategic advantages.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in information technology, Engineering, or related fields.
- Ten plus years of experience in architecting and designing enterprise-level solutions.
- Strong understanding of core banking systems and their integration with local operations and business needs.
- Experience in managing system evergreen initiatives, infrastructure upgrades, and KCI processes.
- Expertise in application architecture with an end-to-end perspective.
- Experience in application demise programs for legacy systems.
- Familiarity with industry forums and aligning with global policies and regulatory requirements.
- Knowledge of cloud governance practices and cloud platforms (e.g., GCP, AWS, Microsoft Azure, Alicloud).
- Experience in budgeting and planning for infrastructure upgrades and evergreen pipelines.
- Strong collaboration skills with compliance teams, regulators, and transformation teams.
- Experience in technical solution design and emergency technical tooling promotion.
- Experience in improving technical resilience and future state architecture of market landscape.
- Familiarity with distributed systems, data architecture, and high-volume transactional systems.
- Strong leadership and ability to work independently or as part of a cross-functional team.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with experience engaging senior executives.
- Ability to prioritize work, manage competing demands, and handle conflict management effectively.
- Demonstrated ability to build relationships with key stakeholders rapidly.
- Willingness to travel and gain market insights.
- Passion for innovation and staying ahead in the tech landscape.
- Good English in speech and writing.
- Traditional Chinese writing will be additional asset.
