HSBC is one of the largest banking and financial services organisations in the world, with operations in 64 countries and territories. We aim to be where the growth is, enabling businesses to thrive and economies to prosper, and, ultimately, helping people to fulfil their hopes and realise their ambitions.

We are currently seeking an experienced professional to join our team in the role of Creative Lead (Video).

Principal responsibilities

  • Edit and deliver video content aligned to brand strategy, campaign objectives, and channel requirements.
  • Bring fresh direction and insight to video output while maintaining HSBC brand, tone of voice, and design standards.
  • Own the end-to-end post-production process: ingest, organisation, rough cut, fine cut, audio clean-up/mix, colour correction, graphics integration, captions, and final exports.
  • Partner with Account Servicing to clarify the brief, define the edit approach, and support project management across internal and external stakeholders.
  • Create multiple versions and cut-downs for different platforms (e.g., 16:9, 1:1, 9:16) and use cases (social, internal comms, events, training).
  • Ensure high quality of work by taking responsibility for one’s own outputs, reviewing against quality standards, and consistently aiming for zero quality errors.
  • Evaluate the effectiveness of video outputs using data and insights (e.g., engagement, completion rates) to refine future edits and recommendations.
  • Stay ahead of industry trends and innovations in editing, motion, AI-assisted workflows, codecs, and platform specs—using this knowledge to improve team output.
  • Build the team’s ability to provide better service by reporting project concerns early, suggesting solutions, participating in project reviews, and preparing/maintaining post-production briefs and checklists.
  • Maintain strong asset management and version control (project files, media, music licences, releases where applicable), ensuring compliance with agreed storage and naming conventions.

Leadership & Teamwork

  • Collaborate closely with the Head of Creative Services and chapter lead to plan workload, priorities, and delivery timelines.
  • Contribute to team capability by sharing editing best practice, templates/presets, and workflow improvements; support peer reviews where needed.
  • Build and maintain team morale; liaise closely with co-leads and production partners to resolve issues quickly.
  • Proactively identify and resolve project risks (missing assets, unclear feedback, technical constraints, approvals).
  • Put the needs of the wider team first by supporting shared standards, reusable assets, and consistent ways of working.
  • Maintain proficiency in current versions of software required for performing duties within HSBC.
  • Put emphasis on, and act upon, the HSBC purpose and values.
