We are currently seeking an experienced professional to join our team in the role of Consultant Specialist.

 

Business: CTO Data Technology

 

Principal responsibilities

•      Lead delivery of one or more workstreams/squads to deliver agreed outcomes (customer, operational, regulatory), using Agile delivery practices and appropriate governance.

•      Own and drive delivery plans (roadmaps, sprint/release plans, milestones), ensuring transparency of progress, risks, issues, and dependencies.

•      Facilitate Agile ceremonies (daily stand-ups, sprint planning, refinement, reviews, retrospectives) and promote continuous improvement.

•      Partner with Product Owners, Business Analysts, Architects and Engineering Leads to shape delivery scope into executable backlogs and prioritised increments.

•      Proactively manage RAID (risks, assumptions, issues, dependencies) and drive mitigation actions to closure.

•      Manage delivery governance and reporting (status updates, steering materials, metrics), ensuring stakeholders have clear, timely information.

•      Coordinate across multiple teams and functions (technology, business, operations, risk, compliance, vendors) to ensure aligned delivery and smooth handovers.

•      Ensure delivery adheres to HSBC change delivery lifecycle expectations, including controls, documentation, and auditability where required.

•      Support release and cutover planning, environment readiness, and operational acceptance (including support model, runbooks, monitoring, and resilience considerations).

•      Drive quality outcomes by promoting clear Definition of Ready/Done, acceptance criteria, and effective testing approaches (unit/integration/UAT coordination as applicable).

•      Coach team members and stakeholders on Agile mindset and practices, fostering a collaborative, inclusive, high-performing team culture.

 

Requirements

•      Proven experience delivering technology change as a Project Manager, Scrum Master, Agile Delivery Lead, or similar role in complex organisations.

•      Strong knowledge of Agile delivery (Scrum/Kanban) and practical experience running ceremonies, managing backlogs with Product Owners, and enabling iterative delivery.

•      Demonstrable experience managing delivery governance, stakeholder engagement, and senior-level communication.

•      Strong ability to manage dependencies across multiple teams and to navigate ambiguity and changing priorities.

•      Experience with delivery tooling such as JIRA and Confluence; strong Microsoft Office skills (PowerPoint, Excel, Word).

•      Solid understanding of software delivery lifecycle and engineering concepts (e.g., APIs, cloud infrastructure, front/back-end systems, CI/CD, non-functional requirements).

•      Strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and ability to drive actions through to completion.

•      Strong negotiation, influencing, and relationship management skills across stakeholders with competing priorities.

•      Experience in banking/financial services and/or data/platform delivery is preferred.

•      Comfortable working with colleagues across regions and cultures (North America, Latin America, Middle East, Asia Pacific and Europe).
