We are currently seeking an experienced professional to join our team in the role of Consultant Specialist.

Business: CTO Data Technology

Principal responsibilities

• Platform engineering: Design, build, and operate core MLOps platform capabilities across GCP and on-prem Kubernetes (multi-environment, multi-tenant where required).
  Standardised delivery paths: Create reusable CI/CD/CT patterns for ML workloads (training, packaging, deployment, promotion, rollback), including reference implementations and templates.
• Workflow orchestration: Engineer and support ML pipelines using Airflow (DAG standards, scheduling, retries, backfills, dependency management, operational runbooks).
  Experiment tracking & model registry: Operate and extend MLflow (tracking, artefact storage, model registry, environment promotion, access controls, retention).
• Model serving & batch scoring: Provide platform patterns for:
  Batch scoring (scheduled/triggered pipelines, scalable compute, idempotency, reprocessing)
  Transaction/near-real-time scoring (low-latency serving, autoscaling, resilience, safe rollouts)
• Observability & reliability: Implement monitoring and alerting for platform and model services (SLIs/SLOs, dashboards, logging, tracing), and lead incident response improvements.
• Security & controls: Embed secure-by-design practices (IAM/RBAC, secrets management, encryption, vulnerability scanning, audit trails) and support evidence needs for releases and operations.
• Enablement: Produce clear documentation, runbooks, and onboarding guides.

Requirements

• Strong software engineering skills (typically Python and Flask ; plus one of Java/Go/Scala/Shell is beneficial), including testing, code review, and maintainable design.
• Hands-on experience building MLOps platforms or shared ML enablement tooling (not just single-model deployments).
• Strong experience with Kubernetes (deployments, services/ingress, configmaps/secrets, autoscaling, resource management, troubleshooting).
• Experience with GCP services relevant to ML platforms (e.g., GCS, IAM, networking, logging/monitoring; plus GKE/Cloud Build where used).
• Proven experience operating MLflow (tracking + registry) and integrating it into release/promotion workflows.
• Proven experience building and operating Airflow pipelines in production (reliability patterns, alerting, operational support).
• CI/CD experience for containerised workloads (build, scan, sign, deploy), plus environment promotion and rollback strategies.
• Observability experience (metrics/logs/traces) and production support mindset (incident management, root cause analysis, continuous improvement).
• Strong understanding of secure engineering practices (RBAC, secrets, least privilege, supply chain security).
