Principal responsibilities

• Lead and coach an engineering team to deliver high-quality solutions, from design through build, test, deployment and ongoing support.
• Write clean, maintainable code with strong engineering practices (unit testing, code reviews, CI/CD hygiene) to improve quality and reduce defects.
• Operate and maintain cloud and infrastructure platforms, including:
  • AWS: support and optimise services used by applications (e.g., compute, storage, networking, IAM), cost/performance considerations, and operational readiness
  • Kubernetes clusters: day-to-day maintenance, upgrades/patching, capacity planning, workload reliability, and troubleshooting (including ingress, service discovery, secrets/config management)
  • Linux server administration: provisioning, hardening, patching, user/access management, log management, performance tuning, and incident triage
• Troubleshoot and resolve production issues quickly and safely, performing root-cause analysis and implementing preventative actions to improve stability and resilience.
• Collaborate across functions (product, business analysis, project management, operations/support, security) to ensure smooth delivery and clear ownership across boundaries.

Requirements

• Solid experience in software engineering, with the ability to deliver solutions end-to-end (design, build, test, release and support).
• Working knowledge of DevOps practices and toolchains, including:
  • Kubernetes (workload deployment, troubleshooting, cluster operations exposure)
  • CI/CD pipelines and automated build/test/release practices
• Hands-on familiarity with cloud platforms, preferably AWS, including core services, IAM,VPC,ECS,EC2.
• Practical experience with Linux fundamentals (server administration basics, logs, processes, permissions, scripting exposure).
• Strong awareness of cybersecurity best practices and data protection principles, including secure coding, vulnerability management concepts, and least-privilege access.
• Strong collaboration and stakeholder management skills, able to work effectively with engineering, security, operations, and business teams.
