We are currently seeking an experienced professional to join our team in the role of Consultant Specialist.
Business: CTO Data Technology
Principal responsibilities
As a key member of the CDO IT Engineering team you will be expected to:
- Design, Development, implement and support solutions for new Data initiatives such as Data Management and Data Integrity tooling aligned to the Data Governance processes
- Maintain and evolve current solutions for CTO/CIB CDO team.
- Be party to CDO retrospectives and innovation sessions to identify engineering solutions to CDO Data Control, goals, issues, principles, processes. etc.
- Collaborate with the wider CTO Data/ Architecture community
- Promoting development standards, code reviews, mentoring, knowledge sharing
- Paring with other members of the team
- Participation in regular planning and status meetings. Input to the development process – through the involvement in Sprint reviews
Requirements
- Must have good all round Full Stack Engineering skills or can demonstrable experience of programming in multiple programming languages
- Experienced in Java and/or Python, Unix/Linux environment on-premises and in the cloud
- Must understand databases and non-sql data stores
- Knowledge of HTTP APIs e.g. RESTful APIs
- Experience with industry standard version control tools (Git, GitHub), automated deployment tools (Ansible & Jenkins) and requirement management in JIRA
- Exposure to Agile Project methodology but also with exposure to other methodologies (such as Kanban)
- An understanding of data modelling techniques and their application to relational and non-relational storage technologies
- Understanding or experience of Data Governance processes would be beneficial.
- Understanding or experience of Cloud design patterns
