We are currently seeking an experienced professional to join our team in the role of Consultant Specialist.

Business: CTO Data Technology

Principal responsibilities

• Accountable for ensuring the products & services are supported by the right architectures and data design that  meets the customer needs.
• Accountable for ensuring the design of the product data solutions are cost effective and maintained through the agile development lifecycle, managing the flow of the backlog of design activities.
• Work with Ops Modellers to ensure operational issues (performance, operator intervention, alerting, design defect related issues, etc) are resolved and that any design related issues are addressed in a timely manner.
• Convert requirements into actionable product/service requirements that feed Technology and/or data solutions development & influence service direction.
• Responsible for ensuring solutions are aligned with the platform architecture and roadmap, group standards and policies, reference architectures and the overall enterprise architecture for their function.

Requirements

•Strong leadership skill and experience, including the task and time management skill
•Strong knowledge on latest data technologies on Hadoop and Public Cloud platforms (GCP & AWS)7 Includes at least CDC, Kafka, Spark (streaming and batch), Kinesis, Distributed stores (such as HBase, Hive, Presto) and file systems (such as S3/HDFS)
•Experience in building distributed / service oriented / micro services style and cloud based architectures•API design knowledge i7e7 REST and standards like JSON
•Technical understanding of Databases and Messaging Queues (Specifically Kafka and Kinesis)
•Experience with scalable web services and databases
•Implementation knowledge of NoSQL databases, including scaling and high availability
•Relevant experience on streaming data and large data sets

What additional skills will be good to have?

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.  
• Over 5 years of experience in architectural roles, with a proven ability to make critical business decisions in complex and ambiguous situations, while considering long-term risks and implications.  
• Proficiency in big data domain such as Hadoop, Hive, Hdfs. (with streaming data processing will be a plus.)
• Good understanding of cloud platforms such as Google Cloud Platform (GCP) and AliCloud etc.
• Strong knowledge of data modeling, databases, and API design and integration.
• Familiarity with enterprise-level systems and an understanding of data governance frameworks.
• Demonstrated leadership abilities, with experience guiding teams and fostering collaboration.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with fluency in spoken and written English.
• Excellent problem-solving abilities, with a structured and analytical approach to challenges.
• Proactive in conducting research and staying updated on emerging technologies and industry trends.
• With consulting skills and with the ability to engage with stakeholders and provide actionable insights.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills to effectively convey technical concepts to diverse audiences.
• Enterprise mindset with a focus on scalability, security, and compliance.
• Understanding of governance principles and their application in enterprise environments.
• Fast self learner.
