We are currently seeking an experienced professional to join our team in the role of Consultant Specialist.
Business: CTO Data Technology
Principal responsibilities
Portfolio & delivery oversight
- Support the PPM/Portfolio team to ensure initiatives align with business goals and values, with clear accountability and measurable outcomes.
- Track delivery health across the portfolio (milestones, dependencies, RAID), driving early intervention and timely escalation on delivery risks.
- Promote consistent practices and tooling across programmes/projects, aligned to GCIO COO expectations.
Financial tracking and controls
- Support budgeting, planning, forecasting and cost tracking for assigned portfolio areas, ensuring transparency and high data quality.
- Maintain governance discipline around financial approvals and evidence where required.
Governance & operational cadence
- Support governance forums through preparation of materials, action tracking and disciplined follow-through.
- Provide day-to-day PMO support activities helping to run IT operations, including managing inputs/updates across governance cycles.
Stakeholder management
- Work effectively with diverse global teams and stakeholders across Technology, Finance, Procurement, People, Risk, Compliance and Group Transformation as required.
- Support other ad hoc requests as needed in a fast-paced environment.
Requirements
- Communication: Excellent written and verbal English, especially strong in email communication and reporting; able to tailor messaging to audience.
- Attention to detail: Strong ability to investigate items in depth and maintain high accuracy of MI and governance artefacts.
- Analytical capability: Logical, analytical thinker with strong problem-solving skills.
- Delivery mindset: Strong customer focus and commitment to delivery; able to work under tight schedules and high pressure while maintaining quality.
- Technology awareness: Understanding of software development lifecycle and Agile ways of working; experience in a technology organisation within the banking industry is advantageous.
- Tools: Proficient in MS Excel and MS PowerPoint; basic data analysis knowledge is a plus.
- Ways of working: Self-starter, able to perform with minimal supervision; capable of handling multiple tasks simultaneously.
