We are currently seeking an experienced professional to join our team in the role of Consultant Specialist.
Business: Chief Commercial Officer Tech
Principal responsibilities
- Architect, design, and evolve Spring Boot microservices and APIs (REST and event-driven) ensuring resilience, security, and performance.
- Define and implement patterns (idempotency, circuit breaking, back pressure, graceful degradation) and uphold technical quality standards.
- Guide development of internal front-end tooling (dashboards, consoles) ensuring accessible, maintainable, and performant interfaces.
- Lead optimisation of observability (metrics taxonomy, structured logging, distributed tracing) and incident reduction initiatives.
- Mentor engineers through design reviews, pair programming, documentation standards, and technical coaching.
- Influence backlog prioritisation with data-driven input on reliability, latency, capacity, and operational efficiency improvements.
Requirements
- Strong proficiency in Java and Spring Boot for building modular microservices.
- Fluent spoken and written English with clear technical communication.
- Practical experience with Linux command line for build, troubleshooting, and runtime operations.
- Knowledge of API design (REST principles, payload modelling, versioning) and integration patterns.
- Familiarity with containerisation (Docker) and orchestration (e.g. Kubernetes) plus CI/CD tooling.
- Ability to write clean, testable code and apply structured problem solving in production scenarios.
