We are currently seeking an experienced professional to join our team in the role of Associate Director Data and Analytics.

 

Business: ASP & ME CDAO 

 

Principal responsibilities

Deliver the Hong Kong Data & AI product portfolio

  • Own and manage delivery of the Hong Kong Data & AI portfolio, ensuring prioritisation, sequencing, and resourcing maximise value and throughput.
  • Lead end-to-end delivery of Data & AI products and value streams, including data pipelines, platform integrations, analytics development, and AI use cases from ideation to production and adoption.
  • Track delivery health and outcomes through clear portfolio reporting and dashboards (delivery, benefits, risk, dependencies, and capacity).
  • Drive value realisation: define success measures, ensure adoption, and evidence benefits delivered across the portfolio.

Strategic thinking and AI operating model innovation

  • Apply a strategic mindset to translate business priorities into a coherent Data & AI delivery roadmap for Hong Kong.
  • Design and evolve an innovative AI operating model (ways of working, governance, controls, and delivery patterns) that enables safe, scalable AI delivery at pace.
  • Balance global portfolio standards with Hong Kong-specific requirements, constraints, and opportunities.

Demand, prioritisation, and stakeholder alignment

  • Support demand management by evaluating new initiatives, shaping proposals, and recommending trade-offs to optimise portfolio outcomes.
  • Partner with senior stakeholders to resolve conflicts, manage dependencies, and ensure efficient execution across teams.
  • Provide clear, compelling updates and decision papers to drive timely decisions and maintain momentum.

Risk management and responsible delivery

  • Balance execution at pace with protecting the Customer and the Bank, ensuring delivery decisions consider risk, controls, and stakeholder impacts.
  • Operate effectively through ambiguity, holding self and others accountable to meet commitments and manage delivery risks proactively.
  • Embed a “Data First” culture
  • Champion Data First principles across Hong Kong delivery: treat data as a strategic asset, prioritise data quality and reuse, and promote consistent standards and transparency.
  • Encourage teams to build with reuse, lineage, and measurable outcomes in mind—so Data & AI products are trusted, scalable, and sustainable.

 

Requirements

Essential experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, IT, or related field; PMP (or similar) advantageous.
  • 7+ years’ experience in portfolio management, product delivery, or strategic planning; at least 3 years in a supervisory/leadership role.
  • Proven ability to optimise portfolios and align delivery to organisational goals and measurable value.
  • Strong analytical skills to develop portfolio reports and dashboards.
  • Demonstrated stakeholder management skills, including resolving conflicts and prioritising initiatives.
  • Knowledge of local business practices and regulatory considerations relevant to Hong Kong (and ability to align with regional/global standards).
