We are currently seeking an experienced professional to join our team in the role of Associate Director, Software Engineering.

Principal responsibilities

  • Work with PO when required and ensure the requirement is fully understood and able to break down the requirement to small deliverable items.
  • Analyse platform process requirement, design and build robust, scalable micro-services applications with high observability and supportability, under DevOps and Agile principle
  • Take ownership of assigned tasks and deliver them as per agreed time-line
  • Provide timely production support, perform root cause analysis for incidents and implement long-term fixes.
  • Provide professional consultancy and support timely for users' queries or requests.
  • Maintain close communication with other IT teams and coordinate IT related stakeholder activities.
  • Manage the technical debt proactively and ensure the security and vulnerability be handled well.
  • Provide technical guidance to junior developers and promote high-performing team culture

 

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) in computer science or related discipline
  • 8+ years of experience in software engineering, with at least 3 years in a leadership or technical lead role focusing on DevOps, Platform Engineering or SRE areas.
  • Ability to program (structured and OOP) using one or more high-level languages, such as Java, JavaScript, Python, and Clojure.
  • Hands-on experience with monitoring and observability tools such as Grafana and InfluxDB, familiarity with time-series databases and data visualization concepts
  • Proactive approach to identifying problems, performance bottlenecks, and areas for improvement
  • Managing critical production incidents
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills, experience working with cross-functional and geographically distributed teams
  • Demonstrated ability to quickly learn new technologies and proactively drive self-development and knowledge sharing within the team

 

What additional skills will be good to have?

  • Strong knowledge of Linux/Unix systems and networking fundamentals.
  • Hands-on experience with KVM/VMware virtualization.
  • Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, or Azure) and containerization (Docker, Kubernetes).
