We are currently seeking an experienced professional to join our team in the role of Associate Director, Software Engineering.
Business: Enterprise Technology L3
Principal responsibilities
- Design, develop and maintain modern, responsive web applications using React and related front-end technologies, and Google Cloud Platform.
- Collaborate closely with UX/UI designers, architects, engineers, and product managers to deliver high-quality user experiences.
- Coordinate with various stakeholders, including business and IT users across different gbgi, VS, SVS to delivery HSBC-wide solution.
- Design, develop and deploy services capable of meeting the anticipated load, performance, availability, security, and resilience requirements, with a focus on automation of build, testing and deployment process on all environments to minimize variation and ensure predictable high-quality code and data.
- Contribute to code and review other's code for best practice, ensuring compliance with all relevant controls and standards including relevant Service Management Standard.
- Provide appropriate communication, release documentation, knowledge sharing sessions and product demonstrations to our customers and stakeholders on product deliveries
- Provide production troubleshooting support in the event of a production incident.
Requirements
- A university graduate with a degree in computer science or related discipline.
- 10 years+ experience in software development area.
- Effective communication skills in both written and oral English.
- Experienced in React, JavaScript, TypeScript,GCP, HGKE, Java or Python is a MUST
- Participating in Show & Tells cover both business and technical users.
- Passionate about inner source ways of working.
- Experienced in applying TDD and BDD to deliver software with strong testability.
- Familiarity with CICD and DevOps tooling e.g. Jenkins, Cloudbuild, Sonar, GitHub, Grafana, Nginx, etc.
