We are currently seeking an experienced professional to join our team in the role of Associate Director, Data & Analytics.

Business: CTO Data Technology

Principal responsibilities

  • Lead the seamless integration of applications aligned with DATaP objectives, focusing on market trends, customer needs, and sustainable business growth。
  • Drive both "Run the Bank" and "Change the Bank" initiatives to align with strategic business goals.
  • Design, deliver, and troubleshoot innovative technical solutions for customer data projects in the Hong Kong market.
  • Ensure data quality and integrity by enforcing strong data governance standards.
  • Leverage Agile methodologies (Scrum and SAFe) to deliver projects efficiently.
  • Identify and implement automation opportunities in coding, testing, and operational workflows.
  • Communicate complex data concepts in a clear and simple manner to diverse stakeholders.
  • Collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and stakeholders using strong interpersonal skills.
  • Handle multiple projects simultaneously with exceptional organizational and time management skills.
 
Knowledge & Experience / Qualifications
 
Technical Skills
  • Expertise in Mainframe technologies (z/OS, CICS, JCL, DB2, COBOL) and modern technologies (MongoDB, Java, APIs, cloud platforms).
  • Strong experience in designing hybrid solutions that integrate legacy systems with modern frameworks.
  • Advanced skills in system performance tuning and debugging for both Mainframe and open system environments.
  • Analytical mindset to interpret complex datasets and develop actionable solutions.
  • Proficiency in leveraging automation tools to streamline processes.
  • Ability to bridge the gap between legacy Mainframe systems and modern, API-driven architectures.
Communication and Soft Skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills to explain technical concepts to different audiences.
  • Strong interpersonal skills to build effective partnerships across teams and stakeholders.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously with strong organizational and time management skills.
Functional Knowledge
  • Solid understanding of HSBC’s structures, values, and strategic goals。
  • Experience managing technology infrastructure in large-scale environments, using methodologies like Lean Six Sigma and Agile to improve performance.
  • Background in delivering major global or regional transformation initiatives.
  • Expertise in customer-facing IT systems and platforms.
  • Strong awareness of the evolving regulatory landscape, especially in financial services.
