We are currently seeking an experienced professional to join our team in the role of Assistant Manager.

Principal responsibilities

The jobholder will be a member of the Business Analytics within Business Finance and Reporting team, providing management information and analytical support to the Global Head of Business Finance and Reporting. Key activities include the preparation of business management papers, reviewing and challenging external reporting results including forecast projections, and driving transformation initiatives around the financial planning processes, among others

• Reporting Review: Support the review and challenge of the IFRS 17 results, including participation in governance forums to provide Group advice and challenges to financial analysis and management actions.
• Forecasting Analytics: Support the analysis, interpretation, and development of solutions for Management Information to provide business insights and implications, including but not limited to budgeting and forecasting.
• Result Communication and Consolidation: Fully understand the IFRS 17 reporting results from local entities and support the formulation of a Group ‘story’ around the numbers. Assist in the preparation of Group management information packs summarizing actuarial reporting results and project outcomes for various stakeholders.
• Methodology and Basis Review: Support the review and challenge of the reasonableness of actuarial approaches, methodologies, assumptions, simplifications, and any actuarial judgments applied in IFRS 17 reporting to ensure compliance with the underlying IFRS 17 policies, controls, and risk framework, including participation in basis review committees.
• Stay Informed: Keep abreast of developments and changes in accounting policies, methodologies, and processes to support an early assessment of IFRS 17 results impacts, strengthen SOX controls, and improve documentation around the production process.
• Market Awareness: Stay informed about market practices, new topics discussed by industry discussion groups, and/or market surveys/statistics conducted by consultants and regulatory bodies.

Requirements

• Experienced, qualified actuary with recognised professional body (e.g. IFoA, SOA).
• Minimum 5 years of experience in financial reporting, with a proven track record within life insurance companies or consultancy firms,
• Strong actuarial knowledge of IFRS17, familiar with the end-to-end reporting methodology, assumption, process, control and governance.
• Strong writing and presentation skills, with expertise in presenting and producing high quality reports at governance forums.
• Experience prophet modelling and/or understanding to finance system and accounting rule is an advantage.

Candidate with less relevant experience or skills may be offered a lower Global Career Band than stated above.
