In Large Corporate Coverage (LC), we manage complex and demanding clients who are global in outlook. These customers are highly active and fully leverage HSBC’s Global reach. To meet our client’s complex needs, our regular interaction focusses not only on building and strengthening the client relationship, but also on the strategic direction of their business and how LC can support them in achieving their planned objectives and aspirations.
The Associate Director role is a vital team member within of the overall client relationship team, where you will work closely with Relationship Directors enabling them to meet the needs of our clients.
Our clients will typically have a turnover in excess of £350m and look to the Relationship Team to support them with their complex business needs through tailor made solutions, whilst ensuring we are treating our customers fairly and in the right way.
You will be responsible for:
- Supporting key product partners i.e., Global Payment Solutions (GPS), Global Trade & Receivables Finance (GTRF) and Global Markets (GM) to ensure the needs of our existing customers are met and new, prospective customers are identified
- Actively participating in and contributing to client meetings and external events, supporting the development of and strengthening of mutually beneficial customer relationships
- Conducting credit reviews as well as supporting the relationship team with credit analysis and the structuring of facilities, ensuring focus is given to minimising credit risk.
- Arranging financial presentations, including MI, client research, credit analysis and pricing approvals to create additional growth opportunities
- Ensuring your knowledge of developments within specific industries and the economy is up to date and you use current market intelligence to support robust and interactive client conversations.
- Preparing supporting documentation to present at relevant bank committees.
Experience that would support your application:
- Commercial Banking experience is essential.
- An understanding of risk management is desirable.
- Experience of building and managing complex relationships is desirable .
- An ability to analyse and interpret financial information is essential.
- Experience in monitoring of credit risk including concern lists and credit control reports, analysing management information (MI) would be advantageous.
- Open to a fast changing and challenging environment, Inquisitive and eager to solve problems quickly and in the right way.
- A positive approach to creating new networks, build new relationships and collaborate with other teams, colleagues and businesses.
The base location of this role is Glasgow, with a hybrid working model available. The successful candidate will be required to visit clients across Scotland on a regular basis, so it is important that you are within a commutable distance of this area.
