The Technical Product Manager (TPM) Payment Platforms is a role combining end-to-end service ownership, technical platform management, and architectural leadership for highly regulated, business-critical, Swiss hosted payment services, including messaging via the Society for Worldwide Interbank Financial Telecommunication (SWIFT), Swiss Interbank Clearing (SIC) Real-Time Gross Settlement (RTGS), and SIC Instant Payments (SIC IP).

What you will do:
The TPM is accountable for ensuring the stability, resilience, and continuous evolution of critical payment infrastructure, including both internally hosted systems and third-party SaaS platforms (e.g., instant payment gateways). The role also provides technical leadership and integration guidance for global and regional teams interacting with Swiss payment infrastructure and support teams.
In this role you will:
- Own end-to-end service delivery for various Swiss hosted payment systems, ensuring availability, resilience and operational continuity (including 24/7 where required).
- Drive operational excellence by monitoring Service Level Agreements (SLAs) and Key Performance Indicators (KPIs), coordinating cross-team dependencies, and managing incident, problem and change processes in line with service management best practices.
- Ensure risk management, control compliance and security adherence by meeting SWIFT Customer Security Programme (CSP) and Swiss National Bank (SNB) / SIX Group requirements, maintaining audit readiness, and strengthening controls (access, encryption, certificates, Hardware Security Module (HSM) maintenance, vulnerability management).
- Provide architecture and integration leadership by defining solution designs, guiding integration patterns across on-prem / SaaS / hybrid environments, and managing technical debt and integration risk.
- Manage vendors and financials by overseeing supplier performance, meeting contractual obligations, and contributing to budgeting and cost optimisation.
- Govern change delivery and stakeholder engagement by supporting strategic initiatives (instant payments onboarding, SWIFT upgrades, migrations), participating in design/architecture forums, and acting as the central interface across business (both Private and Commercial Banking), technology, risk, compliance and external partners/regulators.
You should apply if you have a:
- Master’s degree in computer science, Engineering, or related field.
- Deep understanding of IT engineering, service management, or technical leadership roles within banking.
- Proven experience with Swiss payment platforms (SWIFT, SIC RTGS, Instant Payments).
- Experience in influencing and contributing to solution architecture and system integration across complex, multi-system environments.
- Knowledge of ISO 20022 messaging standards and Single European Payments Area (SEPA) standards.
- Familiarity with cloud and SaaS architectures (AWS preferred).
- Understanding of DevOps, pipelines, and automation practices.
- Knowledge of Swiss regulatory environment (SNB, SIX, data protection).
- Experience in vendor selection, Request for Proposal (RFP) processes, and contract management.
- Experience with the various middleware technologies involved.
- Basic understanding of Python / Java scripting, and API/microservices architectures are a plus to support analysis, automation, and architecture understanding.
- Strong ownership mindset in high-criticality, real-time payment environments.
- Ability to balance operational stability, regulatory compliance, and delivery pressure in high-criticality environments.
- Strategic thinker with hands-on technical depth.
- Proactive risk identification and resolution capability.
- Ability to manage complex dependencies across multiple systems, teams, and stakeholders
