As Senior Data Manager, you’ll shape how we govern, protect and use data across Global Private Bannking (GPB) EMEA (excluding the UK), translating the down International Wealth and Premier Banking (IWPB)/GPB data strategy into clear, business-led priorities and measurable outcomes for PBRS and other Private Bank EMEA markets.

What you will do:

The Senior Data Manager will act as the market Data Lead—partnering closely with PBRS Chief Operation Officer (COO)/(Chief Compliance Officer) CCO, Business, IT and security teams to strengthen data governance, embed effective data risk and control practices aligned to local regulatory expectations, and improve data maturity. They’ll operate confidently from senior leadership discussions through to delivery detail, sponsoring and overseeing multi-disciplinary initiatives across people, process and technology to ensure data is secure, resilient, fit for purpose, and consistently supports high-quality decision-making.

In this role you will:

  • Responsible for cascading down IWPB and GPB data strategy to GPB EMEA markets (ex UK) and execution against the vision for PBRS and its branch, as well as other Private Bank EMEA markets
  • Being the Data Lead, works closely with PBRS COO and CCO teams to execute the data governance, risk and control activities in the market, alignment with local regulatory compliance
  • Focus on the business priorities and align with the overall business strategy of the market
  • Improve the governance structure to move the data agenda forward ensuring that the data risk and control programme is business driven while partnering with the Business and IT organisations for execution
  • Will need to be able to work at multiple levels of the organization such as senior management to ensure alignment and support for the data risk and control programme as well as project teams responsible for execution and delivery
  • To be able to develop a big picture strategic view to gain support for the vision but also be able to dive into the details to support the delivery of that vision
  • Sponsor projects to take the data agenda forward as well as have oversight on other initiatives in the business to ensure alignment with the data strategy
  • Projects will be multi discipline as it may require organisational changes, operational process and control changes as well as technical platform improvements and convergence
  • Work closely with IT and security teams to ensure data infrastructure is secure and resilient
  • Work with GPB Data Transformation and Global Data Transformation (GDT) IT to prepare data reports, dashboards and visualisations for senior leadership. Collaborate with business stakeholders to understand bespoke data needs and provide tailored data solutions
  • You should apply if you have:
  • Previous experience in a data governance, data management, data risk and control role or alternate experience in cross functional roles like data architecture may be applicable
  • Experience running data risk and control programme(s)
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities
  • Experience with the Data Maturity Model a plus
  • In-depth understanding of data governance, security and compliance
  • Demonstrated knowledge of Financial Services such as Banking, Wealth Management and Capital Markets, core banking application such as Avaloq supporting the banking business processes
  • Recognized Data Management qualification preferred (e.g. DCAM)
  • Proficiency in data visualisation tools and analytics platform (e.g. Qlik Sense, Power BI, Tableau)
  • Project and programme management skills such as project planning and tracking, issue identification and management, project status reporting
  • Proven record of effective project management, including planning and decision making, identifying priorities and bringing projects to successful completion in a timely manner and maintaining a focus on high standards and quality
  • Excellent oral and written communication, leadership, articulate, diplomatic, strategic thinker, visionary, persuasive, negotiation and conflict management, and thought leadership, ability to understand high-level strategy but also be engaged in the detail
  • Strong influencing and negotiating skills
  • Bachelor's degree in a related field and expert level of experience dealing directly with data management required
  • Master's degree in a related discipline preferred
