We are currently seeking an experienced professional to join the GTS team in HSBC GIFT City International Banking Unit.  

Job Introduction

  • Foreign banks operating in GIFT City IFSC are building lean but high-control operations hubs to support cross-border transactions (trade, non-trade, investments, lending etc.), receivables finance, supply chain finance, and trade-backed lending.
  • The role is responsible for end-to-end operational ownership of Receivables finance products, ensuring:
  • Regulatory compliance with IFSCA, AML KYC, FIM standards
  • Operational scalability
  • Seamless coordination with onshore/offshore teams
  • This is a hands-on leadership role, not a pure oversight position.

Principal Responsibilities 

1. Operations Management

    • E2E processing of export and import related payments
    • Own end-to-end processing of SME receivables finance products including:
    • Invoice discounting (with/without recourse)
    • Export receivables finance
    • Cross-border factoring
    • Supply Chain Finance (Buyer-led / Seller-led)
    • Ensure timely booking, settlement, and liquidation of receivables transactions
    • Monitor aging, overdue tracking, collections, and reconciliations

 

2. Documentation & Control (High Market Priority)

    • Ensure robust documentation review and execution, including:
    • Service, investment, lending related payments
    • Receivables purchase agreements
    • Assignment deeds / notices of assignment
    • Buyer acknowledgements
    • Insurance / credit protection documents (if/where applicable)
    • Maintain audit-ready documentation aligned to IFSCA regulations, GOP, FIM
    • In general auditor expectations

 

3. Regulatory & Compliance Oversight (IFSCA Focus)

    • Act as operations SPOC for:
      • Internal audits
      • Regulatory inspections
      • Compliance reviews
      • Track regulatory updates impacting receivables finance structures in IFSC

 

4. Risk & Control Framework

    • Implement and monitor:
    • Operational risk controls
    • Maker-checker processes
    • Exception management and escalation frameworks
    • Identify process gaps, fraud risks, and settlement risks
    • Work closely with Credit, Risk, Legal, and Compliance teams

 

5. Stakeholder & Cross-Border Coordination

    • Liaise with Relationship Managers & Product teams
    • Support new client onboarding from an operations readiness perspective
    • Participate in deal structuring discussions to ensure operational feasibility

 

6. Process Improvement & Automation

    • Drive process standardization as volumes scale
    • Support implementation of:
    • Trade finance systems
    • Receivables platforms
    • Digital document management tools
    • Identify opportunities for STP (Straight Through Processing) and cost efficiency

 

7. Team Leadership

    • Build succession and capability within the operations unit

Role Requirements / Education Qualifications / Certifications / Experience:

Experience

  • 10–15 years of banking operations experience
  • Minimum 6–8 years in Receivables Finance / Trade Finance Operations
  • Prior experience in:
    • IFSC / Offshore banking units
  • Large private banks with cross-border operations (acceptable alternative 

Technical & Functional Skills

  • Strong knowledge of:
    • Receivables finance structures
    • Trade documentation
    • Settlement and accounting entries
  • Working understanding of:
    • IFSCA regulatory environment
    • FEMA & cross-border flows
  • Experience handling audits and regulatory reviews

Leadership & Behavioural Skills

  • Hands-on, detail-oriented operator
  • Strong risk and control mindset
  • Ability to work in matrixed, global teams
  • Comfortable operating in a build-and-scale environment typical of GIFT City units
