We are currently seeking an experienced professional to join our team in the role of Manager BFCR - CDD.
Principal responsibilities
Principal Responsibilities as Team Lead:
- Lead a high performing CDD team within BRR Utility
- Engage with in-market SMEs/Lead to ensure local market requirements are adhered to, support resolution of any escalations from markets
- Manage capacity during peak times to ensure consistent service is maintained to the markets
- Engage people to deliver high performance and commit to personal and professional development both for self and team
- Plan and prioritize their own and/or others work, to ensure alignment with business needs and efficient use of resources.
- Drive streamlining, automation & digitalization across Risk and Control actives and client risk management for continuous improvement
- Boost collaboration and interaction within the CDD team across RB & PB
- Produce relevant management information and reporting for the CDD team activities in the BRR Utility
Key responsibilities for CDD:
- Guides RMs in identifying and documenting the information required to satisfy the Bank’s KYC due diligence policies and processes.
- Executes and reviews negative media alerts and performs sanction & PEP screening.
- Identifies and checks for discrepancies between the information held in the customer’s documentation and profile on the system.
- Reviews and validates the quality of the due diligence and Know Your Customer (KYC) information on the bank’s customers, in line with HSBC policies and regulatory requirements on CDD reviews.
- Works with country SMEs when additional guidance on CDD policy is required.
- Drives sustainable growth. Identifies and acts on opportunities to improve efficiency in the workflow.
- Makes informed decisions with factual and coherent recommendations, benefits and implications.
- Keeps colleagues and stakeholders informed and takes accountability for following through on outstanding issues to ensure prompt and efficient delivery of service.
- Plans and prioritizes their own and/or others work, to ensure alignment with business needs and efficient use of resources.
- Takes responsibility for completing assigned tasks to a high-quality standard.
Requirements
- Strong working knowledge of AML, regulatory compliance framework and controls within the banking and financial services industry.
- Able to understand the connection between the financial services industry, the regulatory environment, and their business functions, and assists in passing on their practical knowledge to their colleagues.
- Strong teamwork initiative.
- Good research and communication skills.
- Ability to work professionally with all levels of staff and management.
- Strong familiarity with Microsoft Word and Internet Explorer. Proficient in Microsoft Excel.
- Good command of written and spoken English. Able to read and understand traditional and simplified Chinese. Fluency in Cantonese. Mandarin is an advantage
