We are currently seeking an experienced professional to join our team in the role of Asst Manager II, Biz Conduct and Regulatory Risk.

 

Principal responsibilities

  • Execute reviews that focus on regulatory processes and key risks, to assess design and operating effectiveness of controls, provide assurance that control environment is operating effectively, identify any control gaps, and assist Control Owners to develop action plans to remediate the root causes of these issues.
  • Assess control effectiveness and identify any deviations from regulatory or internal procedural requirements.
  • Track and facilitate closure on outstanding issues identified as a result of the reviews in close cooperation with relevant risk and control owners to ensure the issues are remediated within agreed timelines.
  • Identify opportunities for process and control enhancement initiatives.
  • Manage regulatory compliance related initiatives and support business on regulatory matters, control ownership and act as SME advisory to business teams on risk and control.
  • Understand significant level of regulations across broad portfolio across local regulators, including IA, HKMA, SFC, MPFA.
  • Identify and understand the impacts of various (internal and external) policies and regulatory changes relating to Regulatory Compliance and Conduct.
  • Work with the increasing expectations of Group’s lead regulators.
  • Strike balance between control management and commerciality, while holding stakeholders accountable for control performance.
  • Constantly balance specific market requirements against standards mandated at Group level and country-specific nuances.
  • Manage and influence various key stakeholders across HSBC.
  • Communicate and monitor of risk appetite in line with business requirement.

 

Requirements

  • University degree in business management, risk management, audit and accounting or equivalent.
  • Minimum 2 years' banking experience, preferably in retail and wealth / operations, exposures to audit and/or compliance functions/ requirements will be an advantage.
  • Strong analytical, reasoning and logical thinking capabilities.
  • Positive, dynamic, open to change and outward looking.
  • Attentive to details, independent, self-motivated and able to work under pressure with effective problem solving, presentation.
  • Proven ability to influence others and drive quality performance.
  • Experience managing and influencing various key stakeholders across HSBC in matrix structure.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication in English and Cantonese, and ability to clearly document the current state/issues and give recommendations.
  • Proficiency in the use of computer, including Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint.

 

Candidate with less relevant experience or skills may be offered a lower Global Career Band than stated above.
