We are looking to hire an experienced professional in the role of Wealth Restrictions Analyst to help keep our discretionary investment proposition running safely, smoothly and at pace. HSBC Global Asset Management has implemented a Global Target Operating Model (GTOM) for Investment Restrictions, bringing global ownership, stronger governance and a central team of restrictions experts. You’ll play a key role in maintaining and monitoring investment restrictions for Centre of Excellence models distributed to International Wealth and Personal Banking (IWPB) Private Banking and Discretionary implementation teams—helping to protect customers, support front office execution, and strengthen controls across the business.
As an HSBC employee in the UK, you’ll have access to tailored professional development opportunities and a competitive pay and benefits package. This includes private healthcare for all UK-based employees, enhanced maternity and adoption pay and support when you return to work, and a contributory pension scheme with a generous employer contribution.
In this role you’ll:
- Code, test and maintain wealth investment restrictions for HSBC Wealth Models on Bloomberg AIM (or comparable OMS), ensuring accuracy, quality and consistency under the GTOM.
- Perform pre-trade and end-of-day monitoring of restrictions, investigate exceptions and support timely resolution within agreed timescales.
- Produce and enhance management information (MI) to support Risk, Compliance, Investments, Product and Operations, and drive better straight-through processing (STP).
- Build and maintain a practical best-practice library for restrictions coding, testing and monitoring, supporting capability uplift across the function.
- Partner with global and local stakeholders (Front Office, Operations, Product, Risk, Compliance and IT) to define expectations, quality measures and process improvements.
- Support change-driven project work to implement and continuously improve wealth-focused restrictions governance, controls and operating processes.
To be successful in this role you should meet the following requirements:
- Significant hands-on experience in managing investment restrictions (guidelines interpretation, rule translation, coding/testing and monitoring) - essential
- Solid risk management expertise - essential
- Strong analytical capability with advanced MS Office skills (especially Excel; Access/PowerPoint/Visio beneficial) and confident handling/manipulation of data.
- Experience with Bloomberg or similar Order Management Systems (OMS) - desirable
- Fluency in French - desirable
- Detail-oriented self-starter with strong ownership, able to manage multiple priorities under tight deadlines and lead small, focused projects.
Opening up a world of opportunity.
