We’re currently seeking an experienced professional to join our team in the role of Retirement Advice Consultant Manager to lead a nationally based team of Retirement Advice Consultants.
Reporting to the Head of Retirement Advice Centre of Excellence, you’ll play a pivotal role in shaping the future of retirement advice at HSBC. Our Retirement Advice Centre of Excellence is at the forefront of delivering high-quality, compliant financial planning and retirement solutions.

In this role you’ll:
- Lead, supervise, and develop a team of highly technical pension advisers, ensuring delivery of complex, compliant advice on money purchase pension transfers and at/in retirement planning
- Stay informed of any regulatory changes, ensure policies and procedure are updated to comply with evolving legislation and product changes, and ensure these changes are embedded within the team
- Oversee and check the quality of financial planning reports, ensuring all advice meets policy, procedure, and regulatory standards
- Coach, observe, and assess team members, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and customer-centricity
- Provide technical assistance and deliver training to new Retirement Advice Consultants and wider distribution teams
- Act as a subject matter expert, contributing to retirement programmes, process improvements, and the development of new products and features
- Ensure ongoing compliance with FCA rules, Consumer Duty, and Treating Customers Fairly principles
- Build and maintain strong working relationships with internal teams and external partners
To be successful in this role you should meet the following requirements:
- Demonstrated experience in retirement planning, with deep knowledge of industry procedures and processes
- Change implementation and management
- Relevant professional qualifications (AF7, AF3, G60)
- Sound understanding of FCA rules and the pension regulatory framework
- Proven ability to manage, coach, and develop high-performing teams
- Strong stakeholder management and relationship-building skills
- Excellent organisational skills, with experience prioritising workloads and meeting tight deadlines
- Willingness to travel extensively as required
