The Agriculture SME team of Relationship Managers and Product Specialists provides a range of end-to- end solutions designed to help small and large businesses reach their potential.

 

We are currently seeking a driven and commercially minded individual to join the Agriculture SME team in the role of Agriculture Relationship Manager.

 

The role of the Agriculture SME Relationship Manager, is to acquire, retain and expand relationships with customers we want to bank within SME Business Banking. You will maximise profitably by identifying customer needs first and then recommending appropriate solutions for the customer to consider and accept. You will provide dedicated specialist relationship management with accountability for business development, service and operational delivery. Credit risk assessment is a fundamental element of this role.

 

Your responsibilities will include: 

  • Being an ambassador for HSBC Agriculture and develop the bank’s profile in wider community.
  • Optimising the existing relationships by assisting in the delivery of solutions, products, and services appropriate to meet customer needs.
  • Seeking new opportunities and nurturing existing relationships to identify new business opportunities.
  • Building a network of active business introducers in the business community. 
  • Adhere to structures and processes in place for the management of credit, operational, reputation, financial crime and regulatory risk.
  • Drive revenue growth through understanding customer needs and by adopting a needs-based approach which engages clients and increases new business.
  • Deepen understanding of the client through pro-active credit risk assessments and customer due diligence reviews.

 

To be successful in this role you should meet the following requirements:

  • Experience working in a Commercial environment, i.e. Business/Corporate Banking, Financial Services would be advantageous.
  • Agricultural knowledge would be advantageous, but not essential.
  • Proven Commercial lending experience is essential with a good understanding of financial accounts being a prerequisite.
  • Proven experience of leading the delivery of excellent customer service is essential.
  • Experience in the use of CARM would be advantageous.
  • Excellent written and spoken communication skills with experience of successfully influencing others, negotiating effectively is essential.
  • Builds effective networks across business areas, developing relationships based on mutual trust and encouraging others to do the same.  
  • A comprehensive understanding of risk management and proven experience of ensuring own/others' compliance with relevant regulatory processes. 
  • Be organised and able to manage multiple demands on your time.

 

This is a hybrid position with the ideal base location being Whiteley, but qualified applicants from the South Coast of the UK will be considered, provided there is access to a local commercial office.   A small amount of travel will be required for meetings and collaboration.
