MSS NFR (Non-Financial Risk) partners with the Market Securities Services in the embedding, remediation and improvement of the control environment in respect of key risks to the business, including adhering to the requirements of the Group Operational Risk Management Framework. The team delivers on control related priorities in a well-organised, effective, and collaborative manner.

 

We are currently seeking a professional to join our team in the role of: Strategy and Business Manager

 

The role reports to the MSS NFR Chief of Staff based in London and is responsible for delivering a wide variety of strategic, communications and people engagement initiatives impacting a team of 300 staff across NFR globally, and the wider MSS organisation. The role has direct exposure to the Head of MSS NFR and their Senior Leadership Team, working on strategic communications, governance submissions, people engagement activities and workforce planning.

In this role you will:

 

  • Own the MSS NFR workforce plan, monitor T&E spend and maintain key NFR team data to enable annual processes such as performance
  • Design and deliver communications to the NFR team on key updates and people engagement whilst working closely with the MSS Communications team on delivery of communications to the wider MSS audience on key risk management messages and procedure changes
  • Work closely with the Head of MSS NFR and the global MSS NFR leadership team to shape the MSS NFR strategy
  • Design and deliver key global people engagement and training initiatives to enable delivery of the MSS NFR strategy and create content for and manage event logistics for training, townhalls, leadership meetings and other in person or virtual events
  • Action any ad hoc requests from the Head of MSS NFR

 

 

 

To be successful in this role you should meet the following requirements:

 

 

  • Experience of working with Anaplan and maintaining a workforce plan is highly desirable, with an understanding of the MSS business, including Global Markets, Securities Services and/or MSS Operations
  • Familiarity with the HSBC Risk Management Framework and management of non-financial risk would be beneficial
  • Highly proficient in Microsoft Excel and Powerpoint with excellent written and verbal communication in English and strong stakeholder management skills and the ability to communicate engagingly and build rapport with a variety of senior stakeholders (MD)
  • An ability to communicate strategic plans and deliverables clearly and impactful with very strong organisational, time management, and planning skills
  • The ability to work independently, being highly motivated, self-directed and able to prioritise effectively to deliver multiple requirements simultaneously
