Global Internal Audit provides independent, objective assurance to management and the risk and audit committees as to whether the framework of risk management, control, and governance processes, as designed and represented by management, is adequate and functioning.

We are currently seeking an experienced individual to join this team in the role of Senior Manager Professional Practices, Global Internal Audit Methodology.



In this role, you will:


  • The Senior Professional Practices Specialist, Global Internal Audit (GIA) Methodology role is a key position within the Global Professional Practices (GPP) methodology team, reporting directly to the Global Head of Audit Methodology.
  • The purpose of the role is to design, implement and uphold GIA’s methodology, aligned to the GIA and GIA methodology strategies, industry standards and leading practices.
  • This role will present an exciting opportunity to shape our future audit approach.
  • Partnering with GIA Senior Leaders, audit colleagues and on occasions representatives of other lines of defence, you will be responsible for the effective development of policies, tools and training to further enhance the reputation of the function both internally and externally.
  • You will help to direct and navigate GIA’s purpose, ambition and strategy, which includes setting the industry standard in how we operate as well as improving the efficiency and effectiveness of assurance activities.



To be successful in this role you should meet the following requirements
:


  • Experience of working within a Banking, Financial Services, Professional Services (including a broad range of relevant experience including but not limited to wealth and premier banking, corporate and institutional banking and supporting infrastructure).
  • Demonstrable experience of audit methodologies (including internal audit, risk assessment and control frameworks with a strong understanding of industry regulations and a proven ability to address internal and external findings to deadlines to support business objectives).
  • Collaborating with and an awareness of Quality Assurance with GIA operations and internal audit processes.
  • Experience of Internal Audit training and delivery (e.g., presenting the training to a diverse size and varied audiences).
  • Collaborative, engaging, credible and methodical; being able to bring the numbers, policy and narrative to life (e.g., presenting to a wide range of stakeholders/ senior management).
  • Experience of building and maintaining strong relationships with senior stakeholders (all levels of seniority, businesses, diversity of forums and geographies).



The base location for this role will be Edinburgh or Birmingham and with a hybrid working pattern.
