The purpose of this role is to provide technical accounting oversight to our Long Term Authorised Fund structures. This structure will comprise of UK Direct and Indirect Real Estate, Venture Capital and Debt funds.
The job holder will be proactive in working with a wider team to ensure all daily and interim deliverables are met which primarily comprise of daily fund pricing and periodic financial statements.
The job holder will also be involved in contributing to the design of the operating model and ensuring that robust controls are embedded within structures / books at onboard and play oversight role once in BAU.
In this role you will
- Provide expertise to accounting requirements across the asset classes and fund jurisdictions.
- Key technical SME and escalation contact on all funds daily pricing oversight.
- Lead on all interim and year-end Financial Statement reporting cycle.
- Ensure that any interpretation of requirements is understood and implemented robustly.
- Develop and maintain a good working relationship with client contacts and third parties such as audit firms and external technology providers.
- Continually re-assess the operational risks inherent in the business, taking account of changing economic or market conditions, legal and regulatory requirements, operating procedures and practices, management restructurings, and the impact of new technology.
- Help to drive all future project work – including new fund launches, system implementations and any ad-hoc implementations.
- Update and maintain all procedural documentation accordingly.
- Maintain an awareness of topical market issues, and in particular changes to pricing and accounting/tax requirements.
To be successful, you should meet the following requirements
- Experience in Fund Pricing or/and Financial Reporting
- Experience of dealing directly with external clients and third parties.
- Thorough knowledge of Investment Accounting and Fund Administration.
- Qualified or QBE Accountant – desirable
- Ability to build and maintain good working relationships with colleagues.
- Icon and Yardi experience desirable
- Ability to communicate effectively in writing and verbally.
- Ability to plan and organise workload to meet deadlines, taking into account relative priorities.
- Strong business sense and awareness of the key issues/risks within the Fund Administration area.
