We are currently seeking a professional to join our team in the role of: Governance and Framework Risk Assessment Associate working within our MSS business, Non-Financial Risk team.
The effective management of Non-Financial and Financial Risk is a high priority for Markets and Securities Services (MSS). The MSS Governance and Framework team sits within the 1LOD Non-Financial Risk function and is responsible for the oversight and effective embedding of the NFR Framework
A high-level overview of the role is to support the coordination the review of risks and framework implementation across MSS in conjunction with Asset Class Risk Owners, Control Owners and NFR leads. The successful candidate will need to manage multiple stakeholders globally to ensure appropriate input and review/ challenge of our risk assessments in a timely manner. The role holder will also ensure the HSBC values are present in everything they do, both individually and as an organisation. In this role you will
· Act as an SME providing support and guidance in the operation of the risk management framework across MSS.
· Co-ordinate and monitor issues and actions lifecycle governance requirements for new, updated and closed issues and actions.
· Monitor and quality assess event management processes including identification and logging of root causes/ risk mitigating actions.
· Co-ordinate with control owners to provide a view of control effectiveness for global controls, where required.
· Support the monitoring of Data Quality exceptions and provide guidance for remediation.
To be successful, you should meet the following requirements
· An understanding and experience of Risk and Control: Frameworks, Regulations, Compliance, Control Assessments is essential, including knowledge within Financial Services
· Excellent stakeholder management of peer groups above and below your reporting line
· Experience in analysing large data sets and dissecting them to extract meaningful insights
· Advanced Microsoft Excel skills - VLookup, Pivot tables as a minimum, VBA an advantage
· Experience in preparing Power Point presentations
· Markets or Securities Services experience are not necessarily required however highly desirable if you can demonstrate experience of Risk Frameworks & Compliance in other business areas
