Job description

If you’re looking for a career that will help you stand out, join HSBC, and fulfil your potential - whether you want a career that could take you to the top, or an exciting new direction, we offer opportunities, support and rewards that will take you further.

We’re one of the largest banking and financial services organisations in the world, with a network that covers more than 50 countries and territories. We aim to be where the growth is, enabling businesses to thrive and economies to prosper, and, ultimately, helping people fulfil their hopes and realise their ambitions.

We’re currently seeking an experienced professional to join our team in the role of Account Manager.

The Account Manager is responsible for the regional satisfaction of a portfolio of Global Payment Solutions (GPS) clients. The purpose of this role is to ensure clients receive a strong, consistent service experience, both locally and globally, acting as the client’s single point of contact for complex service queries that fall beyond basic transactional queries.

As an HSBC employee in the UK, you’ll have access to tailored professional development opportunities and a competitive pay and benefits package. This includes private healthcare for all UK-based employees, enhanced maternity and adoption pay and support when you return to work, and a contributory pension scheme with a generous employer contribution.

In this role you’ll:

  • Be client service focused, building strong, trusted relationships and coordinating the bank on the client’s behalf.
  • Manage the liquidity and cash management needs of a portfolio of Global Network Banking, Multi-National Corporations and Local Corporates, maintaining relationships with key stakeholders across Treasury and Finance.
  • Be accountable for the retention of annual revenue across your portfolio (revenue targets included in scorecards), supporting growth opportunities.
  • Own query management: resolve assigned queries and monitor/guide completion of global queries and local basic queries handled by others.
  • Provide insights through Client Service Reviews, using metrics such as payment flows, rejection/return rates and benchmarks to identify trends and drive improvements.
  • Coordinate global treasury and cash management initiatives and projects with internal partners (Operations, Technology, Sales and Relationship Management).
  • Thrive in a fast-paced environment, managing multiple priorities, deciding what needs action first, and escalating or requesting support when needed.
  • Translate complex product/technical information into clear, simple messages for clients and internal stakeholders.

To be successful in this role you should meet the following requirements:

  • Demonstrated client service mindset and ability to build strong, trusted client relationships, coordinating delivery across the bank.
  • Strong knowledge of local and global cash management and clearing services, products and techniques.
  • Proven ability to identify and meet customer needs by matching a broad range of products and services.
  • Strong communication skills (written and verbal), including the ability to deliver compelling presentations and simplify complex topics.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to build relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment with changing priorities, and able to manage multiple time-sensitive tasks.
  • Strong time management, planning and organisation skills.
