Job description
This function brings together distinct specialisms to drive greater connectivity in how we manage engagement with key stakeholders for HSBC.
Finance teams provide the bank with internal and external financial reporting, forecasting, controls oversight, and stress testing expertise. Specialist areas also manage HSBC’s worldwide tax affairs, group treasury needs, and events for investors and analysts.
Principal Accountabilities:
- Be responsible for the review of all accounting and financial reporting deliverables.
- Review monthly profit-and-loss and balance sheets before closing the books to ensure accuracy and appropriateness of accounting.
- Prepare and review statutory accounts.
- Ensure and maintain a robust financial control environment within the team.
- Liaise with the business and function to ensure accounting reflects accurate and timely business developments.
- Lead the Finance team in regulatory change and International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS) change projects.
- Perform independently and within a team setting to improve and streamline processes.
- Responsible for the review and submission of regulatory reporting to the regulators.
- Successfully complete Anti-Money Laundering and Sanctions training and post-course assessment, as required.
Role Requirements:
• Solid professional experience in an Accounting-related field.
• Experience in Group reporting, statutory accounts preparation, managing external audits will be a definite requirement for the role.
• Ability to work independently under pressure and effectively within a team environment and manage competing priorities.
• Self-motivated, with strong interpersonal and communication skills and a high level of accuracy.
• Strong leadership skills to navigate the onshore team as well as offshore team for the success of Global Finance Transformation.
