Job description

The opportunity: Assistant Manager Accounting and Valuations

Being part of HSBC in Ireland, you’ll help evolve and grow our business.

Are you a fund accounting leader who enjoys running high-performing teams and delivering accurate, defect-free NAVs and valuations? Do you have strong client focus and a sharp eye for risk, controls, and process improvement? Do you enjoy driving change in a fast-moving regulatory environment while keeping service quality and morale high?

If you answered yes to any of these questions, we want to hear from you!

What you will do:

Lead an Accounting & Valuation team to deliver accurate, timely transaction processing, NAV production, and valuations in line with agreed SLAs, quality standards, and relevant policies/procedures (including HSS FIM and Global Pricing Policy). You’ll oversee day-to-day delivery, prioritise workload, support change initiatives, and ensure operating procedures remain current and compliant.

In this role you will:
•    Lead and manage the Accounting & Valuation team’s daily delivery to meet agreed quality, timeliness, and KPI targets, ensuring transactions are processed accurately and passed without defects.
•    Plan and prioritise work across the team in line with demand statements, balancing operational throughput with control and quality requirements.
•    Own client service delivery for allocated clients, including supporting fund launches, transfers, and liquidations, and contributing to client meetings, presentations, and service level reviews.
•    Provide guidance and practical solutions to clients and colleagues on accounting and valuation matters, ensuring outputs align with policies, prospectus/regulatory requirements, and internal procedures.
•    Drive continuous improvement by identifying service/process enhancements, supporting operating model changes, and partnering on system enhancements to improve efficiency, cost, and quality.
•    Maintain strong operational control: demonstrate risk awareness, identify process risks, recommend mitigations, and ensure operating procedures are documented, maintained, and followed.

You should apply if you have:
•    Strong knowledge of fund accounting and valuations across a range of fund types, with a clear understanding of key risks and controls in the NAV/valuation lifecycle.
•    Proven people leadership skills, including coaching, performance management, development planning, and building a positive, accountable team culture.
•    Excellent client and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to communicate clearly, handle service discussions confidently, and deliver fair outcomes.
•    Strong planning and prioritisation capability, able to manage multiple competing demands and projects while maintaining delivery discipline.
•    Continuous improvement mindset with experience supporting change, improving operating models/processes, and enhancing service quality and efficiency.
•    Ability to produce and use management information (MI) to monitor performance, identify trends/issues early, and drive action.

Even if you feel you do not meet 100% of our qualifications, we encourage you to apply, if you believe this role is right for you.

What you’ll get in return:
