We’re looking for an ambitious UAE National to join HSBC as Manager, Product – UAE Unsecured Lending, Wealth and Personal Banking. The role will lead personal loan and overdraft product strategy. It offers the opportunity to shape innovative customer propositions while collaborating with senior stakeholders across the bank.

 

In this role, you will:

 

  • Product Strategy and Lifecycle Management: Own the strategy, proposition, pricing and profitability of unsecured lending products such as personal loans, overdrafts and credit cards throughout their lifecycle. This includes product design, day-to-day management, stakeholder engagement, regulatory compliance, audit management, and end-to-end ownership of the product journey. An additional 5-10% of the role will involve supporting Jaywan scheme credit card launch (AEP - Al Etihad Payments).
  • New Product Development and Launch: Lead feasibility, design, regulatory alignment, technology delivery, testing and successful launch of new unsecured lending products.
  • Commercial Performance and Growth: responsible for the development & implementation of the business strategies to achieve unsecured lending products balance sheet & profitability objectives in line with FRP targets as well as position HSBC among the market leaders within the United Arab Emirates.
  • Go-to-Market and Campaign Management: Develop and implement launch, acquisition and promotional campaigns, using market trends, customer insights and competitor analysis to improve performance.
  • Stakeholder and Partner Management: Work closely with Risk, Compliance, Legal, Finance, Technology, Marketing, Distribution and external partners to deliver product objectives.
  • Risk, Compliance and Operational Controls: Ensure adherence to HSBC policies and regulatory requirements, including KYC/AML, risk assessments, audit actions, regulatory submissions and effective customer outcomes.
  • Value Streams and Agile Ways of Working adoption to efficiently deliver products and process streamlining to both clients and frontline colleagues 

 

To be successful in the role, you should meet the following requirements:

  • Extensive experience product management, including new product launches, analytics, process reengineering, lending system development/changes and customer journey mapping.
  • Understanding of the UAE retail financial services market, competitive environment and regulatory developments.
  • Proven ability to coordinate complex projects and manage diverse internal and external stakeholders.
  • Strong commercial, analytical and data-driven decision-making skills, with the ability to work independently and deliver results using tools such as Excel, Word and PowerPoint.
  • Knowledge and experience of risk management across various risk categories – credit risk, operational risk, conduct risk, regulatory compliance risk, financial crime compliance risk, legal risk, etc.
  • Strong influencing, communication and stakeholder management skills
  • Consultative approach to decision making
  • A full-time graduation degree of at least three years is essential for obtaining a UAE visa and work permit. For degrees obtained outside the UAE, valid attestations and equivalency are also mandatory.
  • Under the New Labour Law, only fixed term contracts shall be available to all employees of HSBC UAE (except DIFC and ADGM employees) – hence in line with the term of work permit, a 4 years’ contract would be issued.
