Primary responsibility is to support managing the Risk and Control and Governance framework for NRI & International Business. This role requires the ability to support the team on adhering with applicable regulatory requirements, internal policies and  controls and assist  business head in assessing the operational risks associated with  current operating design.

Proactively working with the team, control owners  - RC , LG, Risk in UAE and India to define, implement and embed robust monitoring of the business operations and tracking business performance .

Using business intelligence, guidance from stakeholders, policy and information to identify areas of emerging risk including; data security, technology design and implementation, financial crime, and legal and regulatory risk.

 

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Act as a first point of escalation and engagement on NRI office operating model with timely engagement and consultation across the UAE Entity and  India entity.
  • Produce quality and timely governance reporting and key management information submissions to senior management at the country and regional level.
  • Maintain a holistic view of the RC Risk profile of WPB in the UAE with oversight and analysis of issue management, trigger events and open challenges.
  • Act as a SME and keep an oversight on cross border banking procedures , policies for smooth functioning of NRI desk in the UAE.
  • Support implementation of the compliance risk management framework across business lines.
  • Identify control weaknesses, report findings and oversee timely remediation.

 

 Experience & Qualifications:

  • Graduation degree is REQUIRED– to secure a UAE Visa and Work Permit.
  • Must have the potential for further development personally and professionally.
  • Relationship building skills.
  • Able to develop technical knowledge in new areas.
  • Bachelor’s degree in law, Business, Finance or similar professional qualification
  • Excellent negotiation, influencing and communication skills.
  • Preferably 4-5 years’ experience in compliance or risk functions with exposure to advisory, governance, risk and control management,
  • Thorough understanding of Retail and Wealth business.
  • Proven analytical skills, together with the ability to support decisions with sound reasoning.
  • Strong influencing and stakeholder management skills
  • Technical knowledge and ability to develop understanding of Retail and cross border banking.
  • Strong administrative skills in use of Word, PowerPoint and Excel.
