The role is to drive FX sales by direct client engagement and providing support to the relationship management teams serving the Premier and Onshore Private Banking segment. The role holder is expected to demonstrate thorough understanding of currency products such as cash fx, options and forward to provide clients with market insight and order execution. The role holder is required to champion and drive unique sales and service initiatives, continually seeking and seizing opportunities to accelerate business growth.  The role holder will also be responsible for managing the day-to-day FX operations, ensure controls and regulatory requirements are met.

The job holder will be required to analyze market information, commentaries and technical analysis where applicable, and provide FX commentary to target clients. 

The incumbent is expected to be a technical expert in FX, the FX Specialist will be responsible for undertaking execution of cash FX transactions for customers based under an Execution Only (EO) service.

The FX Specialist will also conduct product training to support and deliver new product launches and lead client education events to help client gain better knowledge of financial markets and financial solutions. FX Specialists must give clients a meaningful, consistent and outstanding client experience.

In delivering the business objectives you must also maintain the levels of operational integrity required by HSBC Group, closely managing your individual and the collective performance of your Premier relationship manager team/s. Creating and maintaining an environment and relationships where you and the wider team maximize performance in achieving the objectives of the WPB business.

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Stay up to date on market movements & act as a technical expert in Cash FX , FX forwards and options.
  • Following the defined client engagement process.
  • Actively calling clients to provide market movement updates and execute trades based on individual client requirements.
  • Managing client referrals, leads pipeline and action leads to align with channel goals.
  • Working with local and group colleagues to launch new products with the aim of increasing FX market share and revenue.
  • Daily review of achievements and identification of improvement areas with Senior Management to grow client base, revenue and improve customer experience.
  • Reporting daily sales/trading performance for management review and tracking to ensure targets are in line with business plan expectations.
  • Managing appointment schedules to ensure RMs are well supported, and meetings balance new client growth with increasing existing client portfolio performance.
  • Resolving any outstanding operational issues to optimize daily performance.
  • Ensure daily sales activity management enables achieving the overall business objectives

 Experience & Qualifications:

  • Graduation degree is REQUIRED– to secure a UAE Visa and Work Permit
  • 7+ years of FX sales experience along with strong technical skills in FX
  • Evidence of strong sales results in spot fx, forwards and option products.
  • Strong communication, client focus and influencing skills.
  • Strong sales orientation, networking and portfolio management skills.
  • Sound knowledge of financial services products and services and the client relationship management system.
  • Clear view on how to work with Compliance, Risk and Internal Control to ensure a balanced risk operating environment.
