- Track record improving platform resilience and operational outcomes (e.g., incident reduction, MTTR, observability)
- Strong technical knowledge of data platforms, data architecture and data tooling, with practical understanding of HSBC structure and how technology operates in a global bank.
- Hands-on experience with cloud-based data ecosystems (e.g., GCP, databases; exposure to AWS), plus scripting/programming in Python and/or Java.
- Deep knowledge of modern data technologies across Hadoop and public cloud (GCP & AWS) including CDC, Kafka, Spark (streaming & batch), Kinesis, distributed stores (HBase, Hive, Presto) and file systems (S3/HDFS).
- Proven experience designing/building distributed, service-oriented, microservices and cloud-based architectures, including APIs and enterprise integration patterns.
- Broad familiarity with Big Data, Hadoop, Spark, BI, ETL, DB2, Oracle, Java, and cloud including GCP and private cloud.
