The Markets & Securities Services (MSS) division in CIB plays a critical role in facilitating access to financial markets and managing associated risks. MSS Operations, MENA has the following Product Support teams – GFX, Fixed Income & Rates, Equities & Collateral and Cross Product Services. Cash Management is a core function within the wider Cross Products Services that retains responsibility for ensuring the banks Nostro accounts are funded efficiently within strict guidelines.
We are currently seeking an ambitious individual to join our MSS Operations team, who will monitor all Nostro funding management and Liquidity and Payment Flow Management and provide support across all Cash Management related functions.
In this role, you will:
• Correctly monitor daily positions of in excess of 200 Nostro accounts, covering over 90 currencies across 6 countries (Oman/Qatar/U.A.E/Egypt, Kuwait and Bahrain)
• Reconcile closing balances to projections, investigate exceptions and adjust funding requirements as needed
• Collate value date cash flows, calculate final currency funding projections and advise the Balance Sheet Management desk of funding needs
• Prepare, approve and execute Nostro transfers across main and sub Nostro accounts to achieve target balances
• Validate that funding trades are booked correctly and confirm positions are square or at target
• Assess daily liquidity needs by currency and account, forecast potential shortfalls and execute remediation steps including stress scenarios
• Produce liquidity and Nostro reporting to specification with alerting for material accounts and timely MI delivery
• Establish feedback routines with stakeholders, escalate issues through to resolution and embed process improvements using Lean and Six Sigma methods
To be successful in the role, you should meet the following requirements:
• Understanding of Markets Products and experience in Markets operations is highly desirable
• Experience in cash management, Nostro funding and liquidity and payment flow management is highly desirable
• Be flexible and adaptable and be able to handle and priorities competing demands in a fast-paced environment
• Have strong communication skills to be able influence and challenge stakeholders
• Possess strong written, verbal and presentation skills
• Have a desire to find ways to continually improve the service delivered.
• Identify and define problems that impact on your work or the wider business
• A full-time graduation degree of at least three years is essential for obtaining a UAE visa and work permit. For degrees obtained outside the UAE, valid attestations and equivalency are also mandatory
