Role Purpose:

 

Financial Controller will lead a team to produce materially accurate and compliant financial and regulatory consolidated reports, and the implementation and maintenance of a robust and consistent controls framework. He/ she will be responsible for Regulatory reporting as well as Tax related activities.

 

Principal Accountabilities:

  • Drive teams to ensure timely submission of financial and regulatory reporting to external stakeholders & regulators
  • Oversee the monthly balance sheet reconciliation and substantiation process 
  • Accountable for the completeness of the periodic control assessment and testing of individual controls
  • Provide input to the close timetable, including internal reporting timelines and periodic lodgment of all statutory reporting by external deadlines
  • Input into financial approval of new business, provide advice on financial and regulatory treatments applied
  • Ensure interpretation and implement of all types of Bangladesh Bank circulars and guidance related to regulatory and financial reporting
  • Support the development and implementation of various improvement initiatives, and drive efficiencies in reporting where possible 
  • To comply with Tax and VAT regulations as well as ensure timely submission of Tax return. Follow up and provide appropriate documentation for tax and VAT related cases
  • Prepare the Tax planning for ensuring tax efficiency
  • Drive reporting changes adding value to the process
  • Adoption of technology driven solutions to streamline activities and automate manual processes
  • Ensure motivation and team spirit among the teams

 

Experience, Skills and Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree preferably in business background from a public/private University
  • Qualification from any professional accounting body (CA, CMA, ACCA, CIMA, etc.) 
  • Strong financial services knowledge and relevant working experience at managerial level 
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to manage multiple stakeholders and conflicting priorities
  • Attention to detail and an ability to work in a fast-changing environment to tight deadlines
