Role purpose 

  • Establish governance and controls over corporate tax reporting and compliance.
  • Define and maintain SLAs with areas providing data or documentation for tax filings and reporting.
  • Lead initiatives to improve and automate the compliance process.

Main activities

  •  Responsible to:

    •  Prepare and submit tax compliance and optimization activities for the Bank, such as VAT, Informative returns and other tax compliance matters.
    •  VAT optimization processes and controls for the Bank.
    • Tax compliance reviews: taxes withheld to customers, tax controls and current/deferred tax figures.
    •  Provide tax advisory on daily tax compliance matters of the Functions.
    •  Provide support and management on the activities carried out by other tax teams members for tax compliance and optimizations activities for HSBC subsidiaries, as well as, on Deferred Tax and Current tax analysis, effective tax rate for local purposes and IFRs purposes, Corporate Tax Reporting.
    • Support to the Deputy Tax Director and the Head of Tax on any tax matter and special projects (mergers, restructures).
    •   Management of External Auditor’s requirements.
    • Prepare information to support tax audits from regulators.
     Tax risk management. 

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration (required)
  • 5+ years of experience on addresing Corporate Tax reporting, determining Deferred Tax udner IFRS principles and tax compliance obligations, accounting records, specially on international services companies, preferably in financial institutions or Big Four firms. Desireble Financial Sector

  • Proactive, organize, and able to follow directions effectively
