Role purpose

The Data Analyst will play a critical role in supporting the transformation of Retail Risk through advanced data capabilities, cloud migration, and strong data governance practices. This role goes beyond traditional reporting, focusing on building scalable data solutions, ensuring data integrity, and enabling risk-driven decision-making across the organization.

Main activities

  • Support Retail Risk transformation by developing advanced, scalable data capabilities and solutions.
  • Contribute to cloud migration initiatives (e.g., GCP, AWS, Azure), including optimisation of existing code and processes.
  • Build and maintain robust data pipelines and datasets aligned to strong governance standards (quality, traceability, control).
  • Use SAS/SQL and Python to analyse data, automate workflows, and improve efficiency in time-sensitive processes.
  • Work with data architectures such as data lakes and data warehouses to enable future-ready analytics.
  • Produce insights and visualisations using BI tools (e.g., Looker, Power BI, Qlik) and advanced Excel.
  • Partner with stakeholders across Risk, Finance, Business and IT to translate business needs into data and analytics deliverables.
  • Proactively identify opportunities to automate, standardise, and continuously improve processes.

Requirements

  • Degree in Actuarial Science, Mathematics, Engineering, Economics, Finance, or a related field.
  • Certifications in Data Analytics, Cloud, or Risk are desirable.
  • Experience in large-scale data transformation programmes and code optimisation.
  • Experience working in cloud environments (GCP, AWS, Azure).
  • Strong SAS/SQL skills and Python for data analysis and automation.
  • Knowledge of data architectures (data lakes, data warehouses).
  • Experience with BI tools (Looker, Power BI, Qlik) and advanced Excel.
  • Familiarity with data governance tools (e.g., Collibra).
  • Intermediate English to collaborate with global teams.
  • Proactive, strong ownership and accountability, high attention to detail.
  • Clear communication with varied stakeholders (Finance, Business, IT).
  • Ability to work under pressure in time-sensitive processes.
