Ops Manager
Operations is tasked with ensuring we can align ourselves organizationally to help drive these expansion initiatives while at the same time ensuring we manage day to day controls in a robust manner, paying particular attention to the complex regulatory environment. The MSS Operations Manager role is to lead a number of teams of processors and/or checkers to ensure that transactions are processed accurately and that transactions are passed without defects,according standards, regulatory compliance and quality controls. This is a key role in the day to day work of the Back Office. This GCB5 role is a key part of the control and supervision frameworkIn Mexico, the MSS business lines of FX, Securities and Derivatives are supported by an Operations team.
Activities
- Ensuring the teams deliver in line with demand statements for audits and other requirements
- Planning and prioritisation of day-to-day processing across teams
- Establish procedures to ensure Production Quality and Financial Performance
- Implementation of change programmes, system development & enhancements. as directed by the Functional Manager
- Developing and/or implementing Operational Procedures in accordance with the Business Services Operating Model; highlighting any local procedures
- Supervise trade lifecycle for all Back Office products: FX, Securities and Derivatives.
- Manage and supervise de execution of regulatory reporting controls and quality.
- Execute supervision and controls around booking,settlement and payment procedures.
- Execute validations and reconciliations around cash management, settlements, payments and securities positions.
- Execute controls and validations around end-to-end processing for markets products: affirmation, confirmation, settlements, accounting.
- Supervise post-trade life cycle.
- Supervise and manage Tax reporting.
- Escalate properly any possible incident or issue
Functional Knowledge
- Working knowledge or subject matter expertise in Operational support of FX, Equities, Derivatives and Fixed Income products
- Experience to lead and couch teams
- Knowledge on Financial Market Infraestructure
- Knowledge in WHT for Markets
- Knowledge and understanding of local regulations.
- Experience in working directly with local regulators.
- Knowledge and understanding of Corporate Control standards namely: Group Standards Manual (GSM) and the following Functional Instructions Manual (FIMs).
