Finance teams provide the bank with internal and external financial reporting, forecasting, controls oversight, and stress testing expertise. Specialist areas also manage HSBC’s worldwide tax affairs, group treasury needs, and events for investors and analysts.

We are currently seeking an experienced professional to join our team in the role of Manager Regulatory and Financial Reporting.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure compliance and timely preparation of statutory financial statements in line with Sri Lanka Accounting Standards (LKAS) / Sri Lanka Financial Reporting Standards (SLFRS) and Central Bank of Sri Lanka (CBSL) regulations.
  • Oversee regulatory reporting to the CBSL and other relevant regulators, ensuring submissions are accurate, complete and delivered within agreed timelines.
  • Ensure compliance with Corporate Governance and Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) disclosure requirements in line with CBSL directions and applicable local guidance.
  • Maintain professional, open and constructive relationships with external auditors and regulatory bodies, including the CBSL and tax authorities.
  • Provide advisory support on new and emerging regulatory directions/mandates governing the Bank and changes to tax laws; lead regular reviews to confirm consistent application of existing regulations and directions.

Requirements

  • Degree in Accountancy, Finance or a related discipline; qualified member of ACCA (Association of Chartered Certified Accountants), ACA (Associate Chartered Accountant) or CPA (Certified Public Accountant) or an equivalent professional qualification.
  • Demonstrable experience preparing and presenting financial statements and regulatory returns, with strong working knowledge of LKAS/SLFRS and IFRS (International Financial Reporting Standards) / IAS (International Accounting Standards).
  • Subject matter expertise in financial accounting, financial reporting and regulatory reporting.
  • Strong communication, interpersonal and negotiation skills, with the ability to engage and influence stakeholders.
  • Experience working with regulators and/or external auditors, managing queries and outcomes professionally and within deadlines.
  • Strong understanding of Sri Lankan tax laws, with the ability to provide practical guidance and oversight.
