Transaction Management is an integral part of MSS, which primarily undertakes capturing of trade transactions to the accounting platform under stringent timelines with high levels of accuracy thereby ensuring the highest quality of service is provided to the client.
The Opportunity:
Work with a team of staff providing securities services for Traditional funds within the Germany jurisdiction. The job requires working in an automated/semi-automated/manual environment with a keen eye for detail. The incumbent would be expected to perform under stringent timelines with consistently high levels of accuracy thereby ensuring the highest quality service to the client to support the final valuation process.
What you’ll do:
Responsible for reviews of team deliverables / undertake the review of the deliverables before trade signoffs are sent to upstream teams and jurisdiction, on or before the set deadlines to ensure the highest quality client service
• Take complete ownership of providing 100% accurate signoff to onshore location
• Responsible for second stage troubleshooting / resolving of all issues to ensure the daily delivery as per the PLA
• To ensure all service delivery output from the team is completed to agreed quality and timing targets.
• Ensure maintenance of the underlying accounting records for all fund types necessary for the preparation of the valuation packs in an organized manner and perform checks as required for overall control of the process
• Maintain highest level of quality and accuracy for the funds under review
• Be client aware and contribute to a successful business implementation process and on boarding of new funds, and be able to interact confidently with BAs - Ops calls, Error discussions etc.
• Promote team work and sharing of best practices with the team and across others teams wherever there is positive impact on the process
• As required liaise with applicable Fund Administration contact and upstream teams in the City Offices as well as business area to communicate information and resolve issues on a timely basis.
• Adherence to standard operating procedures as prescribed by the Operating Model
• Enhancements to Job-Aid Matrix, process notes, checklists, KPI and internal processes as and when required.
• Escalate important developments in a timely manner and maintain high quality communications
• Demonstrate ability and willingness to train and mentor staff
• Demonstrate understanding of Supervisor role and ability to be accountable
• Administration of queries from other departments and Business Partners.
• Maintain HSBC internal control standards, including timely implementation of internal and external audit points together with any issues raised by external regulators.
What you will need to succeed in the role:
• At least 18 months of experience in Germany Fund Administration Processes (E)
• Exposure to Simcorp Dimension Accounting Platform (E)
• Demonstrate ability to identify and resolve issues
• Ability to assist other staff with application and systems issues
• Possess good analytical and problem-solving skills
• Excellent spoken and written English
• Organized and detail oriented.
• Excellent communications skills
• Strong stakeholder management skills
• Sound understanding of risk management and mitigation tools and techniques.
• Team player and ability to work on own initiative.
• Commercial awareness to understand and identify opportunities/cost savings.

What additional skills will be good to have?
A bachelor’s degree in finance or other qualifications relevant to the accounting/finance industry.
0-3 years of work experience in Financial Industry.
Proficiency in EXCEL essential.
Ability to Speak and understand English.
Good interpersonal and teamwork skills.
Organized and detail oriented.
Other preferable skills
Bcom, MBA or studying for other relevant industry qualifications.
Basic knowledge of Financial Instruments and their features.
Excellent customer service and communication skills.
Ability to re-prioritize workloads due to changing circumstances; meet strict deadlines.
Possess good analytical and problem-solving skills.
Will be expected to maintain HSBC internal control standards, including the timely implementation of internal and external audit points, together with any issues raised by external regulators.
Responsible for the implementation of Group Compliance Policy as is applicable to this role.
Must be aware of the Operational Risk scenario associated with this role and to ensure that all actions performed consider the likelihood of operational risk occurring.
