We are currently seeking an experienced professional to join our team in the role of Manager Business Analyst
Business: Finance
Principal responsibilities
- Serve as liaison between the Finance function and IT teams
- Gather high level requirements and capture the desired changes with clear scope and expected outcomes
- Collaborate with Business Owners, System Owners and SMEs to identify best-aligned solutions, respecting the need for an adequate control environment
- Create design documentation for modifications within the existing Finance IT ecosystem; liaise with IT developers to cover their inquiries
- Identify, manage and escalate interdependencies between competing tasks, workstreams and projects
- Assess and manage risks/issues arising from changes and transitional steps;
- Coordinate and support test of provided artefacts
- Document traceability between requirements and provided functionalities
- Ensure compliance with local policies and the HSBC Change Framework as Business Project Manager within Finance IT projects
- Report regularly/Escalate to project governing forums/bodies
Qualifications:
- Possess a good knowledge of financial accounting and control, with 6+ years of experience
- Programming skills: SAS, Python/SQL is an added advantage.
- Experience in participating in process improvements or implementation projects
- Very good understanding of financial systems and data architecture
- Very good understanding of General ledger, accounting rules.
- Working experience in project management is an added advantage
- Relevant University degree preferred.
- Demonstrate the ability to work with people at all levels.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Be able to work independently and meet tight deadlines.
- Take personal accountability, be decisive, use judgment and common sense.
- Able to work within a changing environment.

What additional skills will be good to have?
- Experience of interacting with auditors / performing audits would be preferred.
- Ability to communicate in French (verbal and written)
- Respond to and provide extended support as required by the Business Deliverables. – Extended hours / weekend support.
