Commercial Banking – Large Local Corporates
Hang Seng’s Commercial Banking (CMB) business provides customized one-stop financial solutions to our corporate customers, from small and medium-sized businesses to large publicly listed companies and conglomerates, as well as institutional clients.
Local Large Corporates provides a broad spectrum of financing solutions to large corporations. As a strategic financial partner to corporate customers, Hang Seng offers a comprehensive range of products and services including bilateral and syndication loans, treasury services, global trade solutions, global payment solutions, project financing, working capital financing, property development or investment financing, investment and insurance. Our experienced and knowledgeable professionals understand the specific requirements of our customers and are committed to providing tailor-made financial packages in their best interests.
We are currently seeking a high caliber professional to join our team as VP II, Corporate Banking – Large Local Corporates, reporting to EVP, Corporate Banking - Large Local Corporates.
Principal responsibilities
- Manage a customer portfolio of mega-size relationships to drive sales, manage credit risk and other services to customer;
- Establish and maintain close customer contacts and mutual understanding to flourish relationship, deliver excellent services and acquire updated information on customers’ business/financing needs;
- Deepen client relationships and improve income generation through focused business development activities;
- Negotiate and structure credit facilities and prepare credit proposals (new and review) in a timely and professional manner, under the constraints of credit / lending policies, in meeting clients' needs as a result of thorough understanding of their businesses, financing requirements and market conditions;
- Improve the loan portfolio mix and maintain the loan assets at quality level by conducting credit assessment of customers' financing requests in a professional manner and by monitoring credit risks and customers' credit standing regularly and then act promptly and appropriately;
- Expand customer base in order to increase the Bank’s market share in the segment;
- Prepare facilities documentation in accordance with credit approvals and market standards;
- Manage operational risks, including identification, assessment, mitigation and controls;
- Carry out sales and marketing of non-lending banking products with an objective to maximize the Bank’s profitability;
- Establish and maintain close customer contacts and mutual understanding to flourish relationship, deliver excellent services and acquire updated information on customers’ business/financing needs.
Requirements
- University degree in Business Management, Banking, Finance, related discipline or other relevant qualifications;
- Minimum of 8 years’ experience in credit analysis, sales and marketing, and customer relationship management;
- Able to demonstrate ability in managing relationship with large corporates to the extent of becoming the trusted advisor. Strong network with the business community in the large local corporate sector is preferred;
- Strong sales and customer service orientation, with self-motivation and ability to work under pressure and independently;
- Sound communication, interpersonal and analytical skills;
- Resilient, capable of working responsibly in a dynamic environment;
- Proficiently in English and Chinese. Fluency in Putonghua is a must;
- High level of customer centricity mindset with dedication to deliver exceptional quality services for customers
- Professional qualifications such as Enhanced Competency Framework (ECF) and/or Certified Banker (CB) under Hong Kong Institute of Bankers (HKIB) would be an advantage.
