Job description

 

We are currently seeking a high calibre professional to join our team as Trading Associate, FX.

 

Job Purpose

 

  • Support the FX trading desk in the timely and accurate execution support of client and internal trades.

 

  • Ensure correct trade capture, booking, reconciliation, reporting and escalation of issues, while maintaining high standards of control, market conduct and compliance with HSBC policies.

 

  • Manages the firm's inventory and trading risk under supervision and as assigned in compliance with all applicable regulation within a given business area Reviews daily and/or monthly reports, as assigned.

 

Principal Accountabilities:

 

  • Ensure correct ticket entry, trade capture and booking into front office systems on trade date.

 

  • Monitor daily trading activity and support order routing and execution workflow.

 

  • Review trade activity for booking accuracy, account information and completeness.

 

  • Liaise with traders, sales, middle office, back office and settlements teams to resolve breaks and settlement issues.

 

  • Reconcile daily and monthly reports as assigned and escalate discrepancies promptly.

 

  • Support desk reporting, management information and operational controls.

 

  • Maintain effective communication across stakeholders to ensure smooth desk operations.

 

  • Adhere to HSBC Code of Conduct and ensure fair customer outcomes and orderly market behaviour.

 

Requirements:

 

  • Bachelor’s degree

 

  • Good understanding of FX products, trade lifecycle and market mechanisms

 

  • Strong numerical and analytical skills

 

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills

 

  • Strong teamwork abilities

 

  • Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced market environment

 

  • Treasury / securities certification preferred where relevant

 

  • Knowledge of Excel and basic programming / automation tools is an advantage.
