We are currently seeking a high calibre professional to join our team as a Senior Risk Actuary, Insurance.
In this role you will:
- Support the updating and maintaining of risk policies under the stewardship and oversight of the Head of Financial Risk Management, Insurance.
- Support the review of relevant First Line of Defence (FLOD) procedures.
- Act as the IFRS 17, regulator capital and economic capital subject matter expert, especially in relation to modeling approach.
- Partner with financial reporting risk stewards and local risk teams to lead oversight and assurance over key actuarial processes across insurance entities.
- Support the oversight of financial reporting and modelling controls.
- Conduct independent reviews and assurance to assess control effectiveness, covering a range of actuarial and financial risk topics such as valuation and projection methodologies, and the reasonableness of actuarial assumptions.
- Support the review of internal and external stress testing results.
To be successful you will need:
- Significant experience in finance, actuarial or capital management field.
- Ability to lead change, influence and actively drive performance.
- Demonstrated ability to partner with business stakeholders and collectively grow the business while minimising risk.
- Experience in the management of financial risks of an insurance business, preferrably in a large-scale insurance organisation.
- In-depth knowledge and understanding of the insurance industry and regulatory environment including current and emerging risks including financial risk management and balance sheet dynamics. Experience in modelling and model risk will be an asset.
- Self-starter, independent with good communication and leadership skills.
