Senior Market Business Manager supports Market Head and Desk Heads in business development, implementation of business strategy and business risk management. He/she liaises with various Business Management and support teams (e.g. Legal and Compliance, Client Life Cycle Management, Operations, Finance, Tax, Technology, Credit, Communications, etc.) to ensure smooth business operations, satisfactory service level and key controls are operating in line with the Bank’s risk appetite, internal guidelines and legal/regulatory requirements. He/she also supports the Market on ad-hoc client requests, exceptional approvals, special situation, incidents or complaints. Besides BAU, BM also leads or participates in various projects or initiatives related to front office, including system implementation, process improvements, sales effectiveness and regulatory initiatives.
We are currently seeking a high calibre professional to join our team as a Senior Market Business Manager.
In this role you will:
- Support the Market Head in the implementation of business strategies/initiatives; business development, marketing campaigns and client events; and to collaborate with other lines of business or HSBC affiliates for business growth
- Support the Market Head in organizing strategy and performance meetings / business reviews, preparing materials / presentations and following up on actions
- Prepare financial reports / dashboards / Management Information (MIs) for Market Head, assist in budget allocations and monitoring / analyzing of individuals and teams’ KPIs
- Assist Market Head and Desk Heads in the management oversight of the platform and Relationship Managers (RMs), and ensure all policies and procedures are followed
- Monitor overdue and pending items/exceptions of RMs, and with oversight on risk issues across the Market
- Organize / assist in the orientation of new Desk Heads and RMs and on-going training of existing staff as required
- Act as main contact point and conduit for respective market for information dissemination and liaise with other support teams to ensure the business processes are managed in an efficient and controlled manner, escalate and resolve day-to-day issues/queries
- Identify / Lead / support business process and risk management improvementsLead / participate in projects / initiatives, e.g. provide or validate business requirements, participate in the UAT of new systems, coordinate system implementation and training for frontline staff, support market communication and feedback, perform post-implementation review and raise / prioritize enhancement requests
- Provide other business management support, undertake other assignments / projects as required by Management from time to time
- Liaise with Business Continuity Plan coordinator for front office teams
- Provide backup coverage when anyone of the BMs or team members are on leave
To be successful you will need:
- At least 7 years of relevant working experience in Private Banking. Good business and product knowledge
- Excellent communication and inter-personal skills
- Strong analytical, problem-solving and organization skills
- Leadership
- Good team player
