Principal Responsibilities

In this role you will:

•    Support growth acceleration in Insurance business, with a strong focus on Asia, through collaboration with HSBC Life markets and stakeholders, on development and management of all distribution channels including but not limited to WPB, PB, CIB/CMB, HSBC Life Direct Channel, Agency/FA, Digital and Third-party distribution 
•    Develop and support markets to execute Insurance distribution people agenda including recruitment, onboarding, training and future-skilling, MDRT qualification, and retention, all to ensure a best-in-class sales workforce
•    Ensure effective implementation of the Group Performance Framework and Direct Sales/Agency Compensation Schemes in markets by guidelines and controls, including scorecard and objectives design, incentive and commission pay schemes, and recognition plan/leadership training events/sales conferences for maximum impact on staff rewards, development, and conduct
•    Develop, execute, and support sales enablement initiatives including activity, leads management, and campaign targeting to help further uplift staff productivity
•    Deliver global and regional strategic business and technology initiatives aligned to group and Insurance priorities; program manage with a diverse group of stakeholders, functions and markets
•    Provide support and facilitate smooth running of various business review meetings, forums and committees
•    This is a global role, based in Hong Kong, reporting to Global Head of Channel Management and Performance

Requirements

To be successful you will need:

•    University degree preferably in Business Administration, Finance, Economics, Insurance or related discipline
•    Minimum 8-10 years of experience in banking / insurance industry, with 3 years or above Insurance business or Sales & Distribution management role at senior level, and strong knowledge on Direct Sales and Agency/FA distribution preferred. Solid understanding on Insurance and/or other wealth products and the relating financial planning and sales processes
•    Demonstrated track record in Insurance / wealth sales frontline people enablement and productivity management, and implementation and oversight of relating policy and governance frameworks, procedures, and practices
•    Strategic mind set, business skills and ability to lead large-scale change program and assume primary ownership of delivery and management reporting. He/she will have strong communication and negotiation skills in aligning stakeholder interests and facilitating decision making to drive desirable outcomes
•    Highly agile of ways of working, he/she will be expected to quickly build strong relationships with key group stakeholders to help ensure that the deliverables are effective and fit well within HSBC’s standards and practices
•    A strong leader with sound judgement and a team player. High energy level to lead and drive change management
•    Background of Agile project management, Value Proposition design & development would be an advantage
•    Corporate material preparation including business case writing, proposal, and presentation
•    Excellent command of spoken and written English and Mandarin
