Senior Investment Analyst, Asia Tech Hardware - HSBC Global Asset Management

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Analyst to join our Active Equity Research team, with a focus on Asian Tech Hardware. This Hong Kong-based role will involve supporting stakeholders across our Active Equity Investment platform, which includes Chinese, Regional Asia, Global Emerging Markets, and Global Thematic strategies.The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong analytical abilities, an in-depth understanding of the Asian tech hardware landscape, and a proven track record in investment research. Exceptional communication skills in both Mandarin and English (oral and written) are essential for this role. Prior experience on the sell-side is highly desirable but not mandatory. 

Principal Responsibilities:

• Conduct in-depth analysis and research on the Asian Tech Hardware sector, identifying key trends, opportunities, and risks. Develop insightful reports and presentations to support investment decisions.
• Proactively and independently generate and present well-founded investment ideas to portfolio managers, supported by rigorous research analysis. Track and evaluate the performance of investment recommendations.
• Monitor news, earnings releases and other relevant information to stay informed about developments in assigned coverage and provide timely updates to stakeholders.
• Assist in addressing equity-related queries from client accounts and participate in client liaison and marketing activities as required.
• Foster and develop professional and collegial working relationships with related investment teams, encouraging collaboration and information sharing.
• Contribute effectively within the team-based analyst framework, supporting group objectives and shared responsibilities.

Qualifications and Skills:

• Fluency in Mandarin and English (both spoken and written) is required
• Solid experience in investment research, preferably including sell-side analysis with strong knowledge of the Global Tech Hardware sector and related market dynamics.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to synthesize complex data into actionable insights.
• Skilled in creating high-quality research reports and presentations.
• Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team-based framework.
• Bachelor’s degree or higher in Finance, Economics, Engineering, or a related field
